    Sony KDL-32BX300

Been working on this tv for a while and I am stumped. I have no power, no standby light but power on the power supply from what I can see but one pin is confusing me.

According to the schematic CN6401 is as follows:

    1 - Standby 3.3v (I have 3.3v)
    2 - AC Off Detect ( I have OL)
    3 - Power On (I have 3.3v)
    4 - Audio 12v (I have 12.8v)
    5 - AudioGnd (I have Gnd)
    6 - Reg 12v Gnd (I have Gnd)
    7 - Reg 12v Gnd (I have Gnd)
    8 - Reg 12v (I have 12.8v)
    9 - Reg 12v (I have 12.8v)
    10 - BL Err (I have OL)
    11 - BL On (I have 1.3v)
    12 - Dimmer (I have OL)
    13 - NC
    14 - T-Con VCC 12v (I have .29v)
    15 - T-Con On (I have 1.8v)

The schematic I have doesn't list the voltages so I have to assume they ok. Pins 11 and 15 I assume they are just triggers hence the lower voltage. The one that concerns me the most is pin 14. I would think it should be 12v. Now should I remove the wire from the harness and put it to 12v to see if the T-Con turns on? Or does that power come from the A board? I tried another similar working power supply that had the same power outputs but the inverter connector was different so it was disconnected.

I don't know at this point if it's the A or P board. I thought when the A board is faulty, you would still get the standby light on the chassis?

Thanks. Now is this an A board problem or a P Board problem?

BTW, the ones with OL (Over range) readings, you should move the Voltage scale up so we can see what the voltages really are.

I have the service manual but it doesn't list the voltages. My Fluke is auto ranging so I can't adjust. The meter's setting is automatic between voltage and resistance. So if it sees no voltage it looks for resistance. I have another Fluke I can meter with though. From what I can see from the schematic, I'm thinking it's the A board.

Even the meter is in auto range, it could not have gone higher than 12VDC.

I think on this meter OL just means open loop. So there's probably no voltage and no short to ground.

No voltage would have shown 0 V on the screen, so I am not sure what you are seeing.

Its just the way the meter was designed. The voltage and resistance setting are the same. The meter auto decides what it is reading. I have two other flukes I can read with when I get home. Since Amnol said pin 2 and 15 should have 3v, I'm thinking the A board is not sending it to turn the tv on.

I'm wondering if I should pull the ac off detect pin from the harness on the P board then put a jumper to 3.3v to it and see if the power turns on?

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
                    by Daren87
                    Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

                    Sony KD-55X9000F TCON Issue
                    by thelankanguy
The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?...

                    Sony KD-55AG9 TCON?
                    by bbrain
                    Hi,

I have this problem with my Sony 55' AG9.
                    It flashes 4x.
I have found the service manual, and seems it is the TCON.

Before I buy a TCON can someone check the vid?

                    Thanks in advance!...

                    by rabbituk
I have got a Sony HCD-BX7700dbi that isn't worth a lot but I'm keen to learn how to repair and would appreciate some help with my train of thought. The protection circuit is kicking in and the standby light is blinking. It goes into protection mode within a second of powering it on.

So far the relay on the power board that enables the main transformer clicks on and then off when powering on the unit. Looking at the schematics, the permanently enabled power rail called 'unreg sub' provides about 13.5VDC. Where the power comes into the main board on connector CN303, there is a diode...

Sony KD-65x8500b - bad Tcon or panel?
                    by rimwall
Hi, hoping for some views on this one which I've not come across before. The TV generates an image that has 12 noticeable bands across it. The image is still there and accurate, but the colour (or perhaps the brightness) changes gradually across each band which creates a noticeable 'step change' at the edge of each band. Given it's a 4K TV with 2160 rows of pixels, I'm guessing the 12 bands correspond to 12 gate drivers of 180 rows each. If this guess is right, then perhaps:
                    a) all the gate drivers are malfunctioning the same way (which seems unlikely), or
                    b) the Tcon board is malfunctioning,...
