Hi jason, do not judge by the test of replacement tcon, it is made incorrectly, in Sony world a new tcon must be paired with the main board otherwise 5 blinks, the same as a faulty screen/tcon, this is the procedure as i took note in my experiments with a lcd set (this can work or not, i found them by casual tests):

sorry, it is in my main language, if you have problems i translate them..

PS: a guy i helped done this succesfully on an android lcd set..

PPS: so get again a repl. tcon, pay attention to ask the seller that the board comes from a new set or old set cracked screen.... mandatory..

you need to cut the black plastic inorder to explorer the rest of this EVSS part on this side.. about OLED Module Tester will work on yours set.. i think any repair shop should have one under his hand.. its cheap, however it can be SIY to make one

also you can try the hard reset i explained before after you disconnect only the lower LVDS., so yours set will remain on
Align T-CON will generate white green LED blinking ..

Thank you Davi.p - I will give it a shot. After performing #10, the TV now doesn't have a white front LED. Either the LED died (unlikely) or this TV doesn't have "Blue / Green" mode?
Also, on the instruction, the translation say rename the File. Does the Folder have to renamed to, or just the file?
        Thanks

Seems the material is aluminum not plastic on this model ?
Unfortunately, no TV repair shops in my area within 50 mile radius at the end of the day, the "Jig" will force a signal to be sent to panel. so if I don't get a signal, I'm still unsure if it's OLED panel or TCON issue? TCON is only $40-$50 and I can buy one and try it out?
As I noted in the previous comment, I was not able to get "Blinking Green" on any other color on the front LED - now I only get 5 red blinks after doing test in #10.

the fault are clear at Panel... you have same Caps position at other side and you did compare them.. the hard reset i suggested just to clear error at MB and T-CON
unplug the lower LVDS only turn on the Optik will lit red and remain on.... plug the set from wall, do the pressing on Power then plug in wall remove until white change green... give time

Jason, test in #10 has nothing to do with my procedure, no cables have to be disconnected..

So yes, disconnecting the lower 51 LVDS cable, brings up the main board and it remains on (Optic Light is red)

on Post # 8, the instructions for hard reset, requires the front light to turn green and so on. The front LED now never turns white and doesn't change to green. I pressed the power button for a very long time, over 1 minute, and no activity on the front light.

The procedure you kindly provided, requires the interaction with the front light to turn solid blue and so on, the front LEDs after performing #10 (I don't know why) never turns white or green or blue again. I tried your instructions and as long as I'm pressing the power button (with all cables connected) there is no change on the front LED.

Also, on the instruction, the translation say rename the File. Does the Folder have to renamed to, or just the file?

The file only have to be renamed, i do not know WHY you do the procedure now that you have probably a faulty tcon, it has to be done with a good card.. the procedure is so, tell me if you already understood , put in the usb key, remove power cord from mains supply, keep pressed the power key on the local set keyboard , not remo commander, then plug in power cord, if power led goes blue (or maybe there's another color here, red?) , release the key and press it again (short , long i don't know) if led blinks white wait until it stops, remove power cord , wait 10 sec, reinsert power , white led does 3- pause - 7 pulses, now turn on tv.. hope the image wil come out..

I will get you the picture of the button a bit later as I'm at work now. The Set only has one button (upper right of the Main board) - it's a standard push button, not joystick.
I haven't done anything with the firmware - I simply attempted to do a hard reset.

Davi.p, I haven't done anything with Firmware - The hard reset procedure, as I understand it, is similar - Unplug from AC power, press and hold the power button, Reconnect power, and wait for some color change on the front LED before releasing the power button. I never get any activity on the front LED with everything connected - as you noted, I believe due to the fault (if indeed the TCON is responsible for the green color)

                              Hello,

                              I have problem with SONY 55X90J. After several check status is as below;
                              1. Running power board as stand alone:

                              TCON_12V =~ 12.6V
                              EVDD V On Max 24V= 19V.

                              2.
Running power board with TCON as stand alone:

                              Effect as below, attched.

                              3. When bottom LVDS cable is disconnected no blinks, but of course no TCON 12V and EVDD.
"I'm almost sure it's a defective panel, but maybe someone has encountered a similar issue on their screen.

                              Best regards....

Hi everyone! I am a new member and am new to electronics repair. I have a background in electrical engineering, but little experience in electronics.

I have a Sony XR-77A80K which will not turn on and has 5 blinking red lights in the stand-by light. I had previously done a forced factory reset, which removed the error code, and the TV regained functionality for a few weeks. I repeated the factory reset and again regained functionality. This happened a few times until I so I had to begin troubleshooting the error.

                              1) I noticed I was not getting...

Hi everyone. First post on Badcaps!

I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot....

Hello, my Aunt recently gave me her broken Sony XBR-65A8G OLED after getting a replacement. It had a 4x led flash error, a replacement T-con didn't fix the error but with helpful info from this forum I found one of the smd ceramic caps on the panel pcb (C575/C378) on a 24v line was shorted to ground. I removed that cap and the tv turned on without error. It still had a black screen with the original t-con back in it, once I put the replacement t-con in it finally had a picture. After doing a panel refresh it had a very good picture but with a few vertical lines for some scenes. For owners with...
