Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090

Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

I would say panel dead. You don't need to see impact for it to be there. I've had many tvs that appear no impact but have broken screens.

Random vertical lines with no discernible repeating pattern are indicative of panel problem. An identifiable "repeating" pattern of vertical lines or blocks or colors can be due to a TCON or mainboard with a shorted address line and can be repaired.

In your case, I suspect the panel-to-buffer-board flex ribbon cables which possibly have COF (chip-on-flex) ICs. The ICs can fail and appear like your image.

Specifically on your TV, the localized nature of all lines in one area tells me one ribbon cable or the IC that drives the lines on that ribbon is damaged. The other random line in center tells me another failure is about to happen there as well - it just isn't as bad yet.

More commonly I see this random vertical lines issue as the result of people spilling liquid on the screen (like children), or spraying liquid cleaner directly on the screen instead of using a slightly damp cloth with no risk of liquid running down the screen. Most TVs now have ribbon cables and buffer boards located at bottom of screen below bezel and any liquid that gets to them will certainly damage them.

Did anyone clean the screen or spill anything on it? Don't rule it out. Be honest with yourself. I have lost count of how many times I told someone their TV has liquid damage and they deny it absolutely only for me to show them there is water, or windex, or milk, or hot chili sauce between the LCD panel and the bezel. It happens and family members are quick to lie to each other about it.



On another note, I checked out the link you posted to the other forum. One user with the same TV and same issue reported that their problem was magically solved by transporting the TV on a bumpy road. Some of these new TV designs are terrible and have inadequate structural build quality. I wonder if you can try removing the base stand or supports and screws and see if anything changes. I doubt it will do much, but if the TV's own weight is improperly supported by the stand design, then removing the stress could change the image issue slightly.
