    Samsung UE55ES8000 Permanent Vertical lines

    Hi everybody,

I have had a really good look around this site trying to find a possible fix for the vertical lines issue on my tv. So far, I have found various cases of vertical lines on the screen, but none like what I have, so thought I would ask for someone else's opinion on what to do next. The lines are in the same place from start up, in all menus including the service menu, and in all test screens as well as all input sources. The lines appear over the Smart TV boot screen as well.

I have checked all boards for obvious burns, and reseated all cables. The cable from the power board to the video board had slight brown marks on pin 19 and 20, so I turned the cable around. No difference... The voltage drop across the cable was minimal.

I have swapped the ribbon cables from the Tcon to the panel side to side, with no change. With one cable removed, the other side is black, and the active side has the same lines.

I have factory reset the tv in the service menu etc. I have conducted panel tests in all the test menus I could find that changed the display and the lines did not move or change.

I have stripped the frame off completely and checked all tab bonds with no sign of burns or obvious shorts. I have tried pressing tab bonds on bottom of screen near panel pcb and no change at all.

I have tried freeze spray on various chips that felt warm, no change.
It seems that there is nothing obvious and now I need to do some component level testing or perhaps buy a new Tcon.... Or am I wasting my time? Is the panel likely beyond repair?. So far, there is nothing I can do to make the lines change or even flicker. I suspect that because they are static and the same in every screen it is a panel fault.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi, br777 and budm, I just came on site looking about my 46 inch Samsung with nearly exact same type of problem, only differance is the spacing between the streaks. Is this something that is unrepairable? Thanks, geraposi

Had the very same issue. Pulled of the back, cleaned and re seated all connections none of which helped. Gave up and just accepted the lines. Moved recently and it seemed a uhaul and bumpy roads miraculously solved the issue. No more lines...for now.

          Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
          by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

          Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines
          by x_orange90_x
I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Thin stable coloured vertical lines on Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC come and go
          by polaro
          Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...

Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 - Pink vertical lines due to chipped LCD panel?
          by Anonmis
Hello all, I was recently repairing my Samsung 55" UN55JS9000 tv from the common burnt backlight LED's and cracked light guide panel issue. After replacing the LED's and putting the TV back together, I tested the tv and all I was getting was sound but no image. Somewhere along the way (could be related to the next issue) the T-Con board became damaged and after replacing it I have made a little bit of progress but now have bright pink vertical lines and still no image.

The bigger issue .... I took the TV apart again and realized that I likely didn't sit the LCD panel correctly...
