Sharp LC32AD5E-BK Vertical lines when cold

Sharp lc32AD5EBK when you first power on displays bold vertical coloured lines which fade in and out and change colour, completely dissapear after 10 minutes or so and then picture is perfect and will stay perfect until you turn off and leave for a while. If you turn off and turn back on no problem.

Have tried replacement PSU which made no difference.
Have tried replacement tcon which made no difference.

Wondered if anyone has come across this problem on this, or any other make. Please see attached photos. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe a faulty panel - was it your set? - cleaning fluid run down the front? have you inspected the panel?

No, only had this set for couple of weeks. No I have not inspected panel. Thought it was bad caps and had spare replacement board so tried that same with tcon. I will have a closer look at panel.Thanks.

Checked panel and tabs to panel and reseated two ribbons to tcon. Turned on straight away. Waited till next morning turned on and same problem. Turned TV off and back on 10 minutes later turned on perfect straight away and now will not show fault . frustrating intermittent problem. Will leave off and try again later. When on perfect picture.

Beginning to look like a poor solder joint somewhere - bugger to track down. May need to arm yourself with a hairdryer and freezer spray.

May be a dodgy voltage regulator on the tcon.

Yes, I think so, although seems to be working better after looking at panel. Left off for 4 hours and started up straight away no problem. I will keep looking. Thanks for your help.

It is certainly a bad panel. I have one identical.

                Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                by gpo23
                Hello,

                i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :

With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :

I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)

Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

                Thank you for your help

Thanks for offering your assistance with this. I'm an electronics enthusiast with moderate level of competence (have a decent lab with two power supplies, microscope, DSO, hot air, good iron, can competently work at a component level on SMDs, design and solder own PCBs etc). I really enjoying fixing things and learning new stuff so took up a free 58" LED TV and have been googling and watching Youtube videos to see if I can fix this! I am happy to go down to individual component replacement/strip replacement etc - it's all in the name of learning.

The issues are as follows: the...

vizio e65 e3 LED tv color vertical lines center tv only
                by viking509
I recently replaced the led backlights with LB65041 LED Backlight Strips and after putting it back together the backlights work but there are only colored vertical lines only in the center of the tv. I can see the Netflix logo (jumbled) after a minute or less the screen went dark. When I turned it on again the lines were back. Then I replaced the t-con board but the same vertical lines in the picture. My question is what is my next step? Could it be a source tab bond issue? A buffer board issue? Could I have loosened a connection to the panel when replacing the backlights? Should I replace the...

Vertical Lines on Half of LCD Display
                by rfxcasey
I have an Siemens HMI with vertical lines on half of the screen. These lines aren't scrambled garbage but rather very regular in pattern and color. I have replaced the LCD with a new one and still the problem persists. I'm wondering if this isn't indicative of a bad video process chip or video memory? Any help would be appreciated. The cable appears to be OK but one pin on the header is unpopulated, though there isn't any loose wire to suggest one broke off or popped out of the connector. In the picture below where the connector is busted out of the side, I did that with my small screw driver...
