    Samsung LN32C450E1D

Have been searching through the forums to figure this out but haven't got a clear answer from other posts.

I have a 32" LCD LN32C450E1D when it is plugged in the power light blinks a few times then goes out. The screen never turns on.

I looked at the power supply etc and see nothing unusual about it.

From my reading here I read that if i unplug the power from the main board and plug it back in it should turn on the backlight and this should verify the power supply is good.

I tried that and it is in fact turning on the backlight which stays on until i unplug the power.

So from my understanding it is a problem with the mainboard. How can i figure out what is causing the problem with the mainboard to fix it. I see them for sale usually in the 120$ range which is likely more than I can get if I fixed it and sold it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks in advance.

What is the _exact_ LED error code? How many times does the LED flash? What colour is it?

That will be a good start, I think. Some of the other guys here know what those codes mean, but "Flashes a few times" is not helpful to anyone.

According to shopjimmy.com there are multiple P/N's that will cross over and work with that set.
            http://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn9...c450e1dxza.htm

That exact P/N seems to be discontinued or out of stock at most places.

There are no error codes, you are seeing the power supply attempting to come up. Was this not the model with the cold solder joint on one of the PS mosfets ? Have you tried hot air yet ?

Really? I thought modern TVs often (especially big brand name ones) had power LED error codes, from what I read on the forum. Or is that only Plasmas?

I don't think any samsung has ever used led error codes. That would make it too easy!

Panasonic, Sharp and Phillips do use error codes.

                        Re: Samsung LN32C450E1D

@ vinceroger69, I actually did read through that before posting. I am more confused after reading that then I was before I started.
I thought before I read that post it was the main board, at the end I wasn't sure anymore.

@ MagicSmoke, Every one of the main board alternatives is out of stock everywhere also except ebay where the going price seems to be about 120$ which is more than I am willing to spend on a tv that is worth at most 150$

@ mmartell, so you seem to be indicating that it is in fact the power supply that is the problem here?

So I guess where I am at is I have no idea what the problem is here nor which board I should be looking at.

Looking for some direction so I can at least narrow it down to a specific board.

Oops! I had the impression it was more common.

"I tried that and it is in fact turning on the backlight which stays on until i unplug the power." That means the inverter circuit and the power supply for the inverter circuits are OK.
You need to monitor the standby voltage and see if it maintain the voltage when the main board is connected. Also try disconnecting the cable between the main board and the T-CON to see if it the TV will boot with no error, but I believe you do have bad main board.
