Element ELGFT401

Hello, I have a Element ELGFT401 Dose not power on. Was handed down to me, I know she had power problems before I got it. I looked for bad caps and saw none. tested the power supply board no power at 24,12,5 or the others. Fuse was good, checked the voltage between the the big cap nothing. I will get pictures on here today. I have a cheap voltage meter. So bear with me on this.

What DC voltage do you have on that large brown main filter cap, measure right at the two legs?

when i just checked it was 0 plugged it in and got this.

also you'll see some melting in that square thing, I'm guessing a transformer.

That is just Silicone RTV around the blue cap. So 0VDC on your meter? I think you will need to get digital meter. 0V probably means the main fuse may have blown.

I checked the main fuss when plugged in has power. The big cap has some power to it when plugged in, I just don't know how to read that ac voltage. The melted top is on the top of the last picture. I think it is a transformer.

Picture #6, those are inductors for the PFC Voltage booster. You are checking for DC on the two legs of the big cap, not AC, it should be around 165~170VDC.

Yes that is the picture of the voltage at 250 dc, just dont know how to read it.

it looks like it is 160-170 volts dc when plugged in.

OK, that is good. So just to be sure, there is no 5VDC Voltage at the pin 5 (5VSB) and the SGND pin of connector CON 5? If that is true, then try heating up the section in red circle with hair dryer for 2~3 minutes, then apply the power to see if you will get the 5VSB.
