problem like your is a "guessing game". I will try to locate Vizio XVT553SV with a crack screen. or you can try to replace the main board or power supply first.

Please see post# 18, I have replaced the main board and now the TV is fixed. I am looking for help just to troubleshoot the problem on the old main board. Now that I have a good board & a bad board I'm hoping to get help to try & find the problem on the old board so I have a spare.

To be honest, most of us tend to avoid troubleshooting main boards... It's very difficult and with a very low success rate. The only main boards that have been solve are just the common problems we've all seen before.

Understood Glitcher, thanks for the feedback. I'll call it good then & get the $50 core return

okay, my bad. I agree with Glitcher. Troubleshooting a main-board with out a schematic is a challenge.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

No Display. Just random blocks of grouped vertical red lines.

                Vizio M65-C1
                by mrtek
                Hi.

picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

VIZIO (V555-H1) Television with odd cascading display fault
                by Garret Matt.
                Hello,

I'm working on a Vizio Model V555-H1 that displays a cascading series of horizontal lines when first powering on. These lines appear to be in the shape of the Vizio Logo and descend until reaching the logo before resetting to the top and continuing their descent. I have reseated my TCON board and dusted connections but still have this fault displaying. I'm familiar with vertical lines but this one is a new one for me. My research into this problem hasn't yielded results as keyword searches point back to vertical line problems.

                Anyone have any recommendations? I...
