    Magnavox (funai) 37MF301B/F7 LCD TV

So, we have this 4 month old 37" that goes into protect mode after flashing a white variegated pattern with no form on the left side of the screen for just an instant. I do have standby and temporarily a flashing green light while it performs system check and then back to just standby red led.

I disconnected the inverter board cables from the smps to the IB and then turned it on and it stays on and there is sound but obviously no picture and no flash light picture.

So I'm trying get input whether it is the inverter board or tcon or something else. The smps board has no voltage markings on either side of the board for the cold side and just a couple voltages printed on the hot side which test to spec.

With the inverter board attached and in a dark room I have turned on the set and flash lighted the screen and cannot see any picture. But, it does only turn on for 1-1.5 seconds before entering protect mode.

Owner is an elderly gent that tossed the receipt and to be honest doesn't remember where he even bought it so returning it is not possible.

Any input as to the cause(s) or a schematic is appreciated.

PS-It's also known as an Emerson LC370EM2

Turned out to be the flux capacitor for the warp drive.

Scotty's Engineering sells them for 22 Federation Credits.

I thought it might be something like that
Schematics are not usually available for anything so new. Did he pay cash - if credit card that would usually be acceptable
and he could claim back on credit card I suspect. No paperwork at all gtee form handbook sometime has dealers stamp? Copy check from bank ?.
What are the numbers of the boards

Just another thought ring funai you will need make model and serial number explain
the no receipt old gent plight and see if they can help - they at least should know
the manufacturing date and you may be able to get it fixed at a service centre.

In the uk despite the sale of goods act some vendors wash their hands of the problem and just tell you to go to the manufacturers appointed service centre
though Ive not tried without proof of purchase

Are you using the remote to control have you tried the buttons on the set

long shot as you have no pic
Try these to get service menu and do factory reset
