I'm really not sure where to start, however from what I can gather there a many other people with similar issues. The model number of this enormous Plasma TV is TC-P65S2. A friend of mine had this in his garage waiting on the landfill. He mentioned the 7 blinking light issue being a huge headache for Panasonic, so I decided to try and fix. The fix has become more of an obsession and hobby.
I replaced the SC board, turned on the TV, and got a picture with horizontal bars. I knew this was the ribbon connectors on the SU and SD, so I turned the unit off and reset the ribbons. Unfortunately, when I turned the power on, I got the 7 blinking lights. Terrible!
What I really need is help isolating where the shorts are in the circuit. What caused the second SC board to go bad? If these boards continue to go bad, I'd think that it would be the same location on the board that shorts.
If there is someone reading this willing to take the time and help me, I'd very much appreciate it (and my wife too as she gets mad watching me stare at all the boards on the back panel). I have a new SU/SD board ordered already, but will not attempt connecting them until I isolate the problem. I have the service manual and two troubleshooting guides if needed.
Thanks in advance,
John
