Thanks, tried it in combination with the 0820D EC that you posted on another thread and it behaves the same, no video, fans spinning, and caps lock blinks 5x long 3x short.
And this 0820D in combination with my EC backup starts the fans, no video but no blinking from caps lock.
something is missing/wrong from hardware side possibly - maybe i should try to reflow chipset.
Thanks

BIOS Request for HP Pavilion 15-bc009nm
Model number: 15-bc009nm
Serial number: 5CD64518KV
Motherboard: DAG35AMB8E0 Rev:E
Laptop had dead SR2C4 chipset, replaced it and now the charger is working and on start both fans start to spin, caps lock blinking 5x long and 3x fast, screen is black.
U5 that was installed was 25Q16 and according to schematics it should be 25Q64, but i am not sure how that happened, i am not the first one diving into it.
Tried some bins for some similar models but it did not work out, and for this specific model could not find any dump.
I tried to etxract the bios from...

Re: Marshall Stanmore Repair
Your audio ic looks quite burned, on it's pins, i assume at least some of the ceramic caps around ic are measuring low resistance across the. If yes lift IC and check again for resistance on surrounding ceramic caps, if it went up your IC is toasted, and that could be a reason why R7 is burning

Re: Asus x556uv
Tried both bin files, no joy. Than I tried to flash the known working backup to my old BIOS IC and it didn't work. So most probably it's IC that is damaged, although CH341 flasher does not report any errors, but who knows. I will get a new 25Q64fvsig and try it again, in mean time laptop will work with URK bios
Thank you guys!

Re: Asus x556uv
The second photo is from the board that has the PCH shorted, the bottom sticker says X556UQ-XX453T. Just to clear the confusion. First photo is the working board but it works only with URK bios.
Only thing is that i don’t get it why the 940MX graphic is not working, although recognized in Windows as 940MX and in Bios as 930MX.

Re: Asus x556uv
Unfortunately the sticker is not on the board anymore, it felt, and there is no QR code on the board either except for the one on the cooler but i assume that is the coolers part number.
The URK board has it's sticker still but i assume you don't need that one.
I took a photo from the sticker with the model number of the laptop, maybe that can help.
Thanks...

Re: Asus x556uv
Hi
I have a really strange problem with this laptop.
So the model number is X556UQ, with the i7, integrated intel graphic and Nvidia 940MX.
When i first got he laptop i saw that somebody ripped pads in the BIOS area, so manage to fix that and took the backup of the BIOS. Although all voltages were fine it wouldn't boot, so tried all possible bioses that i found here and it wouldn't boot with any of those.
So i got another motherboard that is not working to try to get it running, unfortunately the PCH on that one is shorted....

Re: ps3 fat overheating problem
To solve this problem you will most probably have to take off IHS (metal pad between CPU and cooler), because thermal paste between CPU and IHS is not working as it should anymore. I had the same problem and few days ago did this, even with a generic thermal paste PS3 is silent and not overheating.
BUT, it's not an easy job, and there is big chance that you will damage chip if you don't do it carefully. Then the PS3 would become parts donor, so be aware of that.
I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDK9aR_xXrs...

Re: ASUS VivoBook X556UQ-XX453T
No, i think it's not that, it does not even start. Neither on battery neither on charger. But thanks for the bios, i flashed it and will not try some other, this one should be fine.

Re: TNPH0783 and compatible boards
Try to find the board with the same connectors layout, otherwise you will need to cut or cover some of the holes for the I/O connectors.
The firmware IC is possible to reprogram with CH341A for example or simply swap it from one board to other.
Usually it's possible to use 42" board in 50" set for example, and then change panel size in the service menu.
Have you tried to find some shorts on the board, check some voltages?

Re: ASUS VivoBook X556UQ-XX453T
Unfortunately i don't have original BIOS dump.
Thanks for this one @badapple7, but it does not start, so probably is not BIOS related issue, i am suspecting at IT8995E-128.
Thanks

Asus X556UQ-XX453T not turning on, not charging
Hi guys
I got this laptop some time ago, but started to check it out just now.
Friend that gave it to me says that one day, after turning it of the next day would not start. He sent it to some repair shop but they didn't manage to fix it. But they did manage to tear few traces for bios ic. That is fixed now, but i am not sure that the bios that is programmed to ic is the right one for this laptop. Found few dumps here on the site but with neither of them laptop starts.
Laptop is not starting, not charging battery. Plugged in LED is on, but charging LED does not come...

Re: Schneider ABL8RPM24200 24Vdc 20A supply
Well, as i don't have scope my only option is multimeter and lab supply. So with 8.4V the output activates and it's active until voltage drops under7.6V. so based only on that fact i was sure that IC is good, and also changed 3 of them, could be that all 3 are f up but...
So, I did a test that you suggested, took out IC and the voltage is 18.3V, regulated by CR46, 18V zener.
Cap also tested, it is ok, same happening with the new one.
Yes, transformer indeed looks burnt but it is mostly only the top protective layer,...

Re: Schneider ABL8RPM24200 24Vdc 20A supply
Not giving up
So, I did the measurements on UC3843
First - Mains connected, power to IC provided from 330Vdc line over 150k resistor, with the consumption of 2mA.
1- 1.2V 8- 0.7V
2- 0.17V 7- 8V
3- 0 6- 0.04V
4- 0.38V 5- 0
Second measurement - 8V injected with lab supply and IC turned on (interesting thing is that sometimes IC turns on wit as low as 8V)
1- 6.8V 8- 5V
2- 0 7- 8V
3- 0 6- 4V
4- 2.1V 5- 0

Re: Schneider ABL8RPM24200 24Vdc 20A supply
My bad, you are correct, it is anode.
I installed new UC3843 (from ONSemi) and now voltage is 8.00V, but unfortunately that's still 0.3-04V to low to turn on the IC. Obviously something is pulling it down but so far i could not find the cause for this behavior....

Re: Schneider ABL8RPM24200 24Vdc 20A supply
Hi, thanks for the schematic, looks more or less the same as the circuit.
CR11 and CR12 where shorted, both of them are U1D, replaced with the same ones. Yes, R46 is 4.7ohm, it's not burned or open.
CR19 is a BYV26E, thought it's shorted but of the circuit measured fine, but replaced it with the new one just in case.
As suggested, installed 18V zener in place of CR46.
Tried new UC3843, same thing happening, not getting 8.3V that are necessary to turn on UC3843, voltage is always 7.8V.
And yes, on CR21 anode...

Re: Schneider ABL8RPM24200 24Vdc 20A supply
Tried with the new ones, same story happening, i will try to investigate it a bit more, although have no idea what next, but will not give up

TX-P42C2 4 blinks
Just fixed this one, so to leave a part list, maybe it will be helpful to someone. Although after so many that this model is out i doubt that someone is still using it
So, it was a 4 blinker, straight away checked SC2 connector - obvious short.
Damage was:
Q661 - RJP63F3 - replaced with the same one
Q402 - RJP56F4A - installed RJP63F3
Q421 - 2PG011 - installed 45G128
Q621 - 45G128 - installed same one
Q451 - DG501RP - replaced with 45G128
Q701 - smd code 2D
IC773 - smd code HA
Q702 - smd code C3W
D701 - was...
