Every other column of red pixels won't display on Sony KDL-52XBR9 LCD

It's been a while since I've run into this before, so I could use a little help. The attached image is a close-up of a solid white screen. What I'm seeing is red-green-blue-black-red-green-blue instead of red-green-bue-red-green-blue.

I haven't cracked into the thing yet, but before I do, has anyone encountered anything like this before? If so, what was the solution? T-Con? Ribbon connections? Something else?

I'm pleased to report that the repair (if we can call it that) was a success! The connection between the mainboard and t-con was loose on the mainboard side. One of the clips wasn't quite in all the way. Carefully reseating the connection was all it took, and the image cleared up immediately. PQ is fantastic now, (although the input lag is as dreadful as it ever was, but that's just the nature of this set) so I'm happy with that. Another victory for the repair team πŸ‘Œ.

Guy, i.see something different!... i see RED, YELLOW, BLACK, GREEN... is it maybe a screen from Sharp? Maybe quattron technology.. it misses blue.. it can be a flat cable from tcon to panel or a missing EOL resistor on the screen stripe board or tcon.. i don' t know..

Looks normal to me, looks like red-green-blue-green repeated which is fairly common?
If there is no blue the screen would be yellowish. If it's white it's fine...

actually i'm not sure what i'm seeing, pixels are not perfectly focused. hmm

the close up Picture are normal for set seam it had 10 bit or more picture processing Panel .. thought 10 bit and higher can produce over billions color.

Pretty sure it's not an RGBW. I am kind of curious now to get the back cover off and see who makes the panel.

Is red-green-blue-green a common layout in LCDs this size? I just can't imagine that it's supposed to look this way. It's one thing to have shared subpixels on a 2k/3k tiny phone screen, but when we're talking about a 52" 1080p panel, it's a significant deficit.

Nothing too earth-shattering. Red green blue, red green blue.

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help NeededπŸ™

                        Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

                        Sony KD-55X9000F TCON Issue
                        by thelankanguy
The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?...

                        Sony KD-55AG9 TCON?
                        by bbrain
                        Hi,

I have this problem with my Sony 55' AG9.
                        It flashes 4x.
I have found the service manual, and seems it is the TCON.

Before I buy a TCON can someone check the vid?

                        Thanks in advance!...

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Sony KD-70X690E Bravia; Bad TCON? Bad panel?

What's wrong with my TV: the TCON, the panel, or something else? I'm stuck.

                        Problem:

Last week, my Sony KD-70X690E 70" stopped displaying a picture. The TV powers on, and the back lights power on. However, the TV doesn't seem to boot up. I say this because the SONY splash-screen logo does not display, nor does any picture display, nor can I invoke a menu by pressing "Menu" on the remote. Other than back-light bleed, the screen is black.

My troubleshooting got me this far:

With the left-hand TCON to bottom-board ribbon cable...
