    Sharp LC-40E67U Sound NO PIC

    Just picked up a Sharp LC-40E67U.. I can get sound on all inputs tested but no pic.. The backlights come on and the screen is glowing bluish black. I would like to try to upgrade the firmware before I dig into this. But not sure how to do it since I cant get a pic to go into the menu... I have the firmware on a usb unziped to the root of the USb. Someone willing to tell me how to do this without being able to do it from the menu??

    DONT DELETE .. Got one more question.. I popped the back of and went right to the Tcon.. The TCON has 2 ribbon cables. If I undo the left one, I can get half screen to come up .But if both are connected the screen just glows dark blue/black and I have sound. I cleaned all the contacts and it didnt help. Do you all think its the TCON.. I have not worked on any TVs for awhile and my MM is still packed away in storage from a move.. If you all think its a tcon I will just order one since I can test any of the fuses or anything requiring a MM.

      If you can get half of the screen to come on with normal picture which just one for the cable connected between the T-CON and the LCD panel, then you do have problem in the LCD panel which is not much you can do to fix the panel.

        Thanks Bud... After I was thinking about it more last night and dusting off my limited TV repair experience from the past, I starting thing that might be it..
        Time to part it out ..

          what happens if you just undo just the right side ?
