    RCA L40FHD41YX9 power suppy?

Picture blinks every few seconds and very faint. Figured power supply. Opened and found connector burnt. Is this worth trying to fix and are cables available? Is it likely power supply is fried, too? Photos attached.

The burnt cable runs to the back light converter - any chance it is the back light converter causing the cable problem?

You may not find replacement cables and plug. You could remove the connector from the cable and the power supply board and solder the wires direct to the board.

        Since it blinks a picture
there is a good chance that the power supply is ok and that the wires were causing it to pulse on and off.
Looks like the connectors on a couple of my dell boards.

I also looks like less than half of the pins were actually used, so it may not be too hard to direct wire them

Never tried that, but think I can work through it. Worth a try. Thanks!

I just found a bad picture but it was enough to show me that the first 5 pins(the burnt ones) are the positive
SO to make things simplest, you can take the first 5 wires and cut them out of the plug, then strip them and twist them together and solder them to the center of the first 5x2 pin area underneath the board,
This should be enough to tell you if everything will work

It's official - I am sorry at soldering! I attempted it. After reconnecting I did get the blue on light and could switch it on and off with the power button, but no picture at all.
I don't mind getting a new power supply, but wonder if I will have the same soldering problem. Is there another answer to the cable - no way to get a new one. The old one really does look like it had a lot of heat - had to scrape to see the copper. New at this cable thing - thanks for any suggestions.

You've been mighty kind with you thoughts on this TV. I've tried to follow what you said and soldered the wires. Thought it might be the power supply so bought a used one (not sure if it is good). Would you look at the soldering job I did and tell me if this is what you meant?
I like fixing them - this is my 7th TV I've been able to fix - usually by just purchasing a power supply, main board, or T-con board. I usually give them away to friends and family. I hate being beat - great satisfaction in making something broken work again. Thanks for your help and comments. If it is appropriate I would like to send you some money for helping getting it fixed (if it is fixable). Phil
