    Emerson LC320M2F No Power

Good day All. I am trying to figure out what is happening with this LCD TV. When I received the set it was not powering up. Upon removing the back cover I discovered the fuse was open and a series of components were open or shorting. I went ahead and replaced the burnt components from a kit aqired from e-bay. These parts burnt out immediately when I replace the old ones and applied AC. So I went ahead and purchased a PSB from e-bay. I got the new board and now when the AC is applied I get no stand-by light and press the power button I get no response.
I am getting 5V (4.85V) from the ALL %V Test point. All other Test Points are low. e.g the 24V rail is 9.86V
Could it be the Main Board is defective and so not sending the P-on signal to turn on the PSB??
    Thanks for any assistance.
    Andy.

Oh! There is a typo error. It is ALL 5V (4.55V) and not %V. Sorry if I confused everyone.

did you check the voltages using your positive probe on the silver ends of the diodes that you have marked?
Did you also check them with the main board connected and with the main board disconnected ?
Which one has 5 and which has 9.xx and is the 9.xx there if the main board is unplugged

OK. I would re-check the voltages I got and post them. What I remember is the the ALL-5V = 4.45 and the ones that are marked as 24V = 9.75V. This is with the pwr supp bd disconnected from the Main Bd.
            Really grateful for you replies.

              Re: Emerson LC320M2F No Power

Had a little problem with the Crude Distillation Unit at work. Some quick thinking and sleek troubleshooting skill got it back on line in avery short time.

OK. So I decided to take the easy way out and went ahead and purchase from e-bay ($15.00USD) for a Main Bd. I figured at that cheap price it was a good investment, if it works.
I will let you know how that worked out when I get it.

Ok. So I got the new (used) Main Board yesterday. Stuck it in and she fired up. Just quickly closed it up and delivered to the owner. So this time the Pwr Sup and Main Bds went out. Thanks bammbammfran for your interaction. Bless, Andy.

Tankless hot water heater controller board not powering up when power is applied
                  by sam_sam_sam
I recently bought a used tankless hot water heater and the controller board is completely dead no power up when power is applied the display board works however the main controller board does not work correctly at all the fuse is good

I bought a used replacement controller board that also had issues that I was able to fix and now the tankless water heater works correctly now

However I would like to know if I could figure what happened to this controller board if possible

Tomorrow I will take some better pictures of both side of both boards

Asus Z97-a power cycle, no boot no cpu voltage
                  by meraklinetx
Hello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...

2070 Super with crazy power consumption numbers
                  by Joe24
Have a Gigabyte 2070 Super with some bonkers power draw readings. Card runs fine, other than some GPU throttling because of the power numbers. But GPU power always reads too high, more than the power reading for the entire card. And VRAM power always reads way too low, along with PCIe and 6-pin power readings. The 8-pin reading seems plausible.

Typical readout while running 720p Furmark, 8x AA:

                  GPU clock: 1590 MHz
                  Mem clock: 1750 MHz
                  GPU temp: 58.8 °C
                  Hot spot: 71.8 °C
                  Fan speed: 33% / 1000 rpm
                  Mem used: 454 MB
                  GPU load: 97%
                  ...

                  Hi all

There's two other threads about this monitor with seemingly the same problem. The problem was resolved in one case by replacing the entire PSU board and in the second one by replacing an unknown IC.

                  https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40512

The first one has pictures of the pcbs and I noticed that there's one IC and assorted caps not populated on mine (but the PCB itself looks identical) so I thought that'd warrant a new thread.

It's my dad's old monitor. He...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
                  by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...
