    Sharp lc-55p6000u won't turn on

Sharp lc-55p6000u won't turn on. The standby light is on but nothing happens when the power button on the tv or remote is pushed. I'm thinking this is a main board issue but they are expensive. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to repair the main board I have. There is a repair service on Ebay but they're also expensive. Since there's a repair service for this main board I was hoping somebody could help me with the repair. The main board part number is 221999. Thanks!!

This is eeprom 24C256, what makes you think that it is not working properly, it looks like paint.

I scraped it off the best I could so maybe it was paint. Will this eeprom cause the tv to show the standby light but not turn on?

Your motherboard and power supply are not made by Sharp, but are assembled on the same chassis as HISENSE, and they have models that do not go into operating mode due to non-working backlighting (sophisticated backlight protection).

So, are you saying that this eeprom will or will not cause the tv to show the standby light but not turn on?

Thank you Diah. With that said, can you tell me the repairs that need to be made to get this board working again? As I said there is someone on Ebay offering repair for a high price. I can't afford it so I would rather find a way to fix it myself, with you guys help.

UPDATE: The main board was the problem. I just wish there was someone on here that could have told me how to fix the old one in order to save money. But, thanks for the help as always!
