Just wanted to put the feelers out there, I have been seeing a lot of LG LCD TV;s recently with very serious failure of the buffer boards that connect the TCON to the LCD Panel (the 2 strip boards that run along the bottom). I think its a very poor design they glued the ribbon cables onto the PCB. The 2 panels in this case are perfect working order but I am unable to repair both TV due to the damage on the PCB boards. I have attached pics so you can see what I mean. On the 47 Inch the damage was that bad it actually melted the connector and ribbon cable completely.

Re: Lg 42LM615T and 47LE5900
Thats probably why they put these things--At the bottom--so when someone cleans 'em with too much cleaner/tips summit on 'em, this fault happens....
They are in the business of Selling Tellies after all--Making 'em last--to them, Aint economic good sense!
Ive seen lots of similar stuff with these new/sub 3 year old things, Made to Fail, cheap parts, stressed to the limits--what do you expect!
Planned Obsolescence in action....
I very much doubt anything can be done with those, may be worth cleaning the deposits off though, re-testing....TELEFIX

Re: Lg 42LM615T and 47LE5900
Thanks Alastair looks like we both in swansea. I am determined to find a way to get these going as there good sets when working. Sadly I think the PCB are toast Damage just to great to salvage them. On the 47 Inch it actually burned the ribbon cable in half inside the conector.
I am more upset about they glued the LCD panel ribbons on instead of using a connector so you can not replace the 2 boardsLast edited by mintminty59; 05-08-2014, 05:51 AM.Comment

Re: Lg 42LM615T and 47LE5900
That might be the case, but I thikn there is more to it than that. To me it looks like a heavy build up of flux and the parts have corroded or reacted with metal case around the panel. The Ribbon cable actually burned in half and burned the connector. LG seem to think its a potential problem as they have escelated my concerns. That small bit of damage has rendered the units write offs. To me its an abvious design flaw.Comment

by zeskoHello,
I have a XPS 9520 with broken daughter board and missing ribbon cable. I can fix the board by replacing the connector, but I can't find the correct ribbon.
There is 2 models, idk which one is needed on my laptop.
0xkvng
00vpr2
Daughter board is LS H822P. When I check for a palmrest, the board attached to have a 0xkvng ribbon. But when I check for LS h822p, it's 00vpr2 ribbon...
Someone can help me with that please ? Idk the difference between these 2 ribbon but they definitely doesn't look the same..
thanks...-

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by RubenlilyHey,
So I have horizontal lines on my TV and I'm trying to trouble shoot. My question about the ribbon is:
When I disconnect one ribbon from the t-con I should get half picture working and other half black or something like that correct? But when I disconnect the ribbon on one side I just get a dark screen and it doesn't matter what side I disconnect. I just get the dark screen. No half working, no one half black and the other one left. Sound is playing from the TV so it's obviously on and when both sides are connected I have the picture with the horizontal lines... -
by av4xGood morning, everyone!

• Model: MacBook Pro 14” M1 Pro (A2442)
• Logic board number: 820-02443-05
Original Issue
The device suffered liquid damage, causing a short circuit on the logic board.
Near the audio jack area, the CR852 capacitor pad was severely burned, creating a clear short-circuit path. The board could not power on properly.
Work Performed
Removed the short circuit by drilling through the board (bypassing the short path) in the CR852 area.
