Okay thanks. This might be beyond my knowledge and ability at the moment. I may end up ordering a new board.

Edit oh sorry, yes it will go to standby. Diah

SPI Flash - W25Q40, W25Q80...., but it seems to me that the problem is not with them.

Wish I could invest more time in this one but I can't at the moment!

But we are back in business. Main board handled it.

            Thx everyone

Not really, found a cheap main board replacement since it seemed isolated to that. I am getting alright at power board repair but main boards I am not yet there.

When I started a year ago I knew absolutely nothing about Tvs let alone electronics.. so getting better and learning so appreciate the help.

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
                    by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                    Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                    First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
                    by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...

Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
                    by NWArkGuy
Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...
