Need help with 50" plasma. At beginning it will not pique up. Found shorted X-main board. Repaired board and it powers up ok. All voltages per panel sticker ok. But the picture looks fuzzy. Removed power cabke from power supply to main board, shorted ps-on to ground and put jumper on 3-4 on t-con. Test pattern came but fuzzy again. Ordered another t-con and X-main , still same problem. Please see attached picture.

Re: Samsung PN50B430P2DXZA
That is an X-main fault if I ever saw one...
Can you see if you can find the Ve voltage and try testing it?Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung PN50B430P2DXZA
Check the ribbon cable between X-main and control board is not damaged in any way.
Do you have an oscilloscope available for testing the panel drive waveforms? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

That's fine just post a picture of the scope. You will need a 10X probe too. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung PN50B430P2DXZA
It could be the power supply, I had a similar model with a problem that kind of looks like that with similar parts. I swapped out 2 new x-mains and the problem was the same.
After swapping everything, it turned out to be the power supply. Wasn't sure for the reason why, but it worked.

Vsch is Vsc + about 130v to 160v in your case it's OK.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung PN50B430P2DXZA
Best start again.
Measure All the voltages in the set, those from PSU and those on Y/X-sus boards, List them here--with their circuit references, like Vs, Va etc....
For such an extreme fault, I'm guessing one is a fair bit off....TELEFIX
How PLASMA SCREENS WORK, X-SUS and Y-SUS what they do--

You can see the difference is 150v it is fine. Your problem likely xmain or fault with control boardPlease do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Samsung PN50B430P2DXZA
All panel sticker voltages are correct. I did not check low voltages but VS, VA, VSC and VE are exactly what panel sticker suggests. I had blown X-main, had bunch of blown Fets, replaced them all and got bad picture. I purchased another X-main same problem exactly, purchased another control board same problem exactly. I did remove main board and run test pattern by shorting PS-on to ground and putting jumper on control board pin 3-4 and 4. Test pattern look bad also, it loaded test pattern went try diferent colors and paterns but picture was bad. I am checking right now Y-sustain cantfind anything bad on it at all. I guess next will be checking power supply as Glitcher sugested and trying to get scope hooked up and get some education how to use scope.
I appreaciate all your help guys.Comment

by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... -
by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by DodgethisHello all,
This is my first post, but long term lurker on the form learning as much as possible about these TV's. I was given this TV as due to a power outage of constant On/off of power to TV. The TV originally would just click on and off (Typical Reboot Cycle). I opened the back of the TV, and troubleshooted by taking the 96 pin LVDS off one at a time to see if I had a picture on either side. I finally fixed the reboot cycle by finding the error on the left side of the screen off connector CN 1301, and the TV would stay on. Further troubleshooting led me to the driver boards where...5 Photos - Loading...
