Hey can anyone tell me how I can check to see if my strw6765 MOSFET is good I have it out of the board cause my bad solder job the solder melted and joined two pins together so it poped. I am pretty sure it's bad but before I order one I wanna make sure. Plus I took it out to re solder it and fix it the proper and clean way.

Thats an IC, hard to test, but check between pins 1 and 3 with an ohm meter, if its shorted the ic is bad.

If you shorted two pins with solder and powered it on and it went up in smoke then it's bad for sure."Tantalum for the brave, Solid Aluminium for the wise, Wet Electrolytic for the adventurous"

Yea I think it was on the 6765. Cause it looked like they were touching but I'm not sure. I guess I can start with that one and go from there.Comment
