Hi all,
So yesterday i picked up this UE46C6530 LED TV as i was after a C series main board (BN41-01444) for my other TV which was on the bench... (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...t=35344&page=2)
The seller described the fault as "Vertical colored lines" on all inputs and also in the image diagnostics so i assumed it was a panel / T-Con / AV fault (The dark smudge in the top left corner is the cling film the tv was wrapped in).
I was hoping it was not a panel fault as the lines covered the full width of the screen; not just discrete portions and the line colors didn't change with the picture behind them - This made me think this MAY be a T-Con or AV issue?
I remember seeing something similar on a laptop which needed a GPU reflowing (broken solder joints under the GPU chip) So i started pushing on each of the 3 heat-sinked SMC's on the AV board...lo and behold, as soon as i put some pressure on one of the chips (highlighted in red) the image cleared up... and went back to funny lines as soon as i stopped applying pressure.
Has anyone had anything like this happen before? Any suggestions as to how i can fix it? Unfortunately the main boards are fairly rare/ Pricey!
