hello
got this tv today i have sound but no picture but i still have the lg logo showing on the mainscreen

any ideas ?

just tested voltages all seem fine

The menu works when try via remote and the side buttons also tried the avi,scart but just sound with the LG cube showing on the screen

LG No Signal cube? Are all inputs dead? What about Freeview/DTV?
I have a friend with a smashed 32" like this, he might have a main board... I'll ask him if you're interested.

Yes tom tried all hdmi connections and avi have not got a aerial to test only virgin box available,I'll appreciate it if you could ask your friend plus yes to the lg signal cube logo

OK, hold MENU on TV and MENU on remote. 10 seconds. Does service menu appear? Note: if code prompted try 0000, 3142 or 1234.

Is there a special way of doing this tried on the last lg I fixed can never even get into the part where u enter a code

It sometimes requires a factory remote, depending on the model; someone on a forum said you can use a universal remote but didn't include any code.

I can use a USB connected to main board to play a movie on there and it's playing fine so this is strange

Yeah done a reset in the menu u connect hdmi lead it says connecting then no signal it has built in games that work as well in the menu

Really need to get into that menu but can't find anything on it - maybe try googling it a bit more as I only had a brief look, someone mentioned a One 4 All remote working.

so does that mean i need a Logitech Harmony Remote to access the service menu ?

If you look on that list, there's many options. One of them involves using an audio output (e.g. laptop, iPod, phone) and an IR LED - if you can get the bits from CPC it could work.

I will give him a call tomorrow and check, he runs a TV/laptop repair shop. He'd probably sell the whole set of boards for cheap, will check with him.
