Hitachi 42EDT41 Plasma Has amber standby light push power button and it turns green and I can hear solenoid click in back but nothing on screen. I checked VS and VA voltage and VS is 3.8V and VA is nothing. I was told the power supply board is new.

Check VSAGO, VCEGO signals on connector going to power board (should be labelled.) They must be high (>3V) for it to work. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Hitachi 42EDT41 No Picture
Oh, I didn't notice this was an LG panel. 42V6, 2004 panel, 480p... is it really worth fixing? Anyway, try isolating the Y- and Z-sustain boards. See what happens, Vs rises or not?
I have vague recollection of fixing one of these. Top left corner one of the ceramic resistors was open circuit.Last edited by tom66; 04-14-2014, 07:22 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

OK you probably have a shorted Z-sus IPM, I would look for a replacement Z-sus.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Hitachi 42EDT41 No Picture
Well, are you sure your replacement Z-sus is OK? Is it shorted? $45 on this TV? I get given these for free in working condition. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Hitachi 42EDT41 No Picture
VS/VA bad with Z-sus connected means the Z-sus is short; sometimes the short can be hiding behind a component like a diode and so is not easily visible. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Hitachi 42EDT41 No Picture
Bad panel, I have never heard of it on these.
If Vs/Va is gone when Z-sus is in, the Z-sus must be shorted somehow.
These are very dumb plasmas - almost anything can go wrong on the sus boards and they'll do their darndest to keep working...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Hitachi 42EDT41 No Picture
Fuse will only blow if the current through it exceeds its I^2 * T factor (something like 5 amp will blow a 1 amp fuse in 1 second, 10 amp will blow it in 1/4 second, etc.)
If the power supply can't supply that fault current the fuse won't blow, simple...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by KYBOSHPicked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.
When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on... -
by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by JJAAMMThis was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.
Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode... -
by TR103Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
- sound and backlight, but no picture
- when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
- it keeps rebooting
- without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.
- without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered... -
by JackUziHi all,
First post so please bear with
So I found a similar issue on another thread but have been advised to open a new one so here it is.
One day this TV started doing this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42QlTOSOCjw
This happens on all inputs and menu screens.
Thank you to nomoresonys for previous advice - to check voltage on powerboard connector and possible loose/bad tab bond.
I've opened it up and tried reseating all the ribbon connections but the problem remains. I need some support in testing...2 Photos - Loading...
