    Problem with Vizio L30e

I have a Vizio model L30e. The problem started a few weeks ago, every once in awhile the picture would shut off but the tv itself would stay on audio still working. After a few times of doing this now the picture doesn't come on at all but the tv still powers on and has sound, the screen does light up at first also when first powering on only to return to total blackness. I was wondering if this could be bad caps? I called Vizio and they said it was probably a problem with the video board or power supply but I really don't want to spend $250 to repair something that I could do myself for a lot less. Any help is appreciated.

shine a flashlight on the screen to see if the pic is there but the ccfl quits.
i get these every now and then at sams in their return dept.
bad soldering and a fouled lcd connector top the list so far.

      Re: Problem with Vizio L30e

I saw your post for a L30e and have the same problem with no video. Can you give me some idea as to what connector may be bad and a good start to what solder connections may need resoldering. I was given this tv and have an electronics background but I'm not a tv tech, however I used to repair test equipment coming off the assembly line. I have the board off the back where all conncections are made, is this the board we are talking about. Thanks for any help you can give me.

No Power problem with Vizio E60-E3
          by rajbot
          Hi all:

I have a Vizio E60-E3 I am trying to troubleshoot a no power problem with. Thanks to the help on this board and elsewhere, I was pretty sure I had narrowed it to a power board problem. The board in question is a 09-60CAP0D0-00. Image attached for reference, but not of my board (tv is put away at the moment). FWIW, no obvious looking issues with the board.

I measured voltage at power in and on the fuse and saw 120V, so power is getting to the board.

On the pins out to the main board, I got no voltage at all on any of the pins. I assumed this...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
          by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
          1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
          2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
          3. Problem: TV shuts down

          Thinkpad X1 Carbon "LMQ-1MB 12298-2 48.4LY26.021" VCC3M problem
          by Zeonalbasta
          i have a problem with thinkpad X1 carbon gen 2 "LMQ-1MB 12298-2 48.4LY26.021"
The laptop was turned off because the MOSFET was not transmitting voltage. After checking it turned out that the gate pin on the MOSFET was the problem, because it was producing an inappropriate voltage. and it was discovered that the problem was with the Think engine, so I decided to reprint each pin, and finally the mosfet could work properly. However, there is another problem, even though the voltage has been supplied to the laptop, it still won't turn on, there isn't even an LED indicator. After double...
