    General question about lvds

    hi all
    i read on lvds in wiki and some books .
    i searched the forum and could not find an answer

    can anyone explain how to identify the lvds types
    and the differences between them ?

      im trying to understand how mainboards send data to tcons and tcons send data to panel boards and how panel boards control the panel itself.

      but starting at the beginning: if i have a tv with symptom: blank backlit screen, i want to verify if the mainboard is functioning properly first. its easy to see if its sending 12v to the tcon...but im pretty foggy on what the other lines of the LVDS connector should have on them.
      and also should they have the same voltages on them regardless of if the t-con is connected?
      and also how do you probe these pins easily? they are...

      Hello all... TV started boot looping. Opened the back panel and tried to isolate the problem. Just PSB no boot loop. PSB and MB no boot loop. Plug in the LVDS from panel to MB and boot looping starts up. It doesnt matter of order that I plug the LVDS ribbons back in, only 1 and no boot loop but as soon as 2nd one plugs in boot looping. I then noticed a flicker on the screen when I was closing the clip on the harness to the LVDS. Shut the lights off so I can see better, and I noticed as i slowly close it, I will get a picture, but as soon as it clips in, I lose picture and booting happens. So I...

      Hello , for some time I was studying Quanta U9x/8x schematics and the option to use both type of screen (LVDS 40 pin / eDP 30 pin).
      In some cases to use LVDS screen PCB use converter IC RTD2132/6
      Now I found an HP 15 F series U99 mainboard with RTD chip not populated and LVDS 40 pin lcd touch screen
      at the same time I have another HP 15 N series with Quanta U92 mainboard and RTD2136 with eDP 30 pin lcd screen (no touch).
      Maybe someone more experienced in the subject can clarify if is posible to change type of screen used with some resistors / bios options change.

      Hi all, I appreciate any help at all on this I have an HP Elitebook 840 a customer spilled tea on it and it shorted/melted the LVDS port I found the schematic here

      But i can not find the part number for the LVDS port if anyone knows where I can get a LVDS port I would appreciate it. Every time I google it I get lots of LVDS cables but not the port/connector.

      UN70NU6900FXZA Won't Boot Unless I Temporarily Disconnect Right LVDS Ribbon

      I recently was given a UN70NU6900FXZA that would only boot loop once plugged in (auto powers on when plugged in). I found that disconnecting the lower (right side) LVDS ribbon, then plugging the TV in, followed by reconnecting the lower LVDS ribbon will allow the TV to work 100% normal as far as I can tell (no lines, no discoloration, no dimming or anything like that).

      I tried the tape method on the lower LVDS ribbon and found that if I cover pins 10 and 11 (counting from the bottom up) allows the TV to boot normal but 25% screen all the way to the right side is discolored. While...
