So I found ph6501. And the legs read. The two on the left read 13v. And the two on the right side of it read. 3.39 and the bottom one -0.04.

And now I think I just fried ph6302 the stand by voltage reg cause I was metering it and my hand slipped and touched the two right side legs. So the left side reads 6.49v and the other side doesn't read anything. Does that mean its fried and I need to get another one.

If you look at the diagram, you will see the primary side where the LED inside the Opto is, what do you get if you measure right at the 2 pins of the LED side and the 2 pins on the photo transistor side. The Photo-transistor side is in the secondary cold side so the chassis is the ground ref point.

are the two pins of the led side the side that has the diode inside of it or the other side that shows pins 3 and 4? Also I probably wont get any readings now because i fried the reg. for the 3.3v standby voltage.

At least I think its fried cause I get 13v still on the left side but nothing on the diode side.

So on the ac det photo transister. The led side I get nothing between the two pins. And on the pins on the right the diode pins I get 3.39v on the top pin and nothing on the bottom pin. And the 12v reg above it I get nothing on the led side the two left pins and I got 7.3v on the top right pin and 8.3 on the bottom pin. This the way I'm looking at it.

I put my mm black probe on the single lead side of q6501 and the red side on one of the two pins on the opp side. Measured resistance of like 10ohms. Then did black on same spot and red on the other pin on the opp side and got 12 ohms. Then did black and red on the two pin that are on the same side and got 70 ohms. Does that sound like its bad. Lol I don't know the terminology for it but I found a test write up on the forum.

Ok so I put my blk probe on the base of q6502 and red probe on the collector and got 4.07v. Then I put blk on base and red on emitter and got nothing.

"And on the pins on the right the diode pins I get 3.39v on" That is OK which means the BACKLIGHTS ON is not being routed to ground through the Optotransistor inside the OP6501. I am helping this OP on this thread which has the same power supply board as yours. He is getting the same voltage as you.

But when I try to read it on the other side of the cable on the main board where the cable plugs in I don't get any reading at all

So your Backlights on signal is also dead.

Is it possible to troubleshoot down to component on the main board for that or do u think its the chip in the main board
