    Sharp LC-60E79U won't power up

    Hello,

I have a problem with Sharp TV.
After connecting it to AC outlet LED Power lamp is blinking constantly. OPC LED is off. The power supply board looks fine, however I don't have any info about voltages on connectors of power supply board.
I tried to disconnect both master and slave inverter boards and no results.
    Please help

Thanks for the service manual for this TV. I have it and there is no info about voltages.
Find out there is only +5V and 3.3V on the output of the power supply. Without pressing power button the power LED blinks constantly.

      Thanks for any advice.

          Walter319,

Do you still have the TV issue?

Where did you test the +5 and 3.3v?

          Thanks

Re: Sharp LC-60E79U won't power up

I have come across this problem also. When powering up the tv the power light flashes twice and the opc light flashes 5 times. According to service manual its a power supply issue. If I do a hard reset by holding volume down and input then plugging AC back into the back of the tv, all the backlights come on but the tv will do nothing else. I'm getting 5v standby reading and when I first power the tv I can get 14.2v on both pins that send power to the main board. After 3 or 4 seconds I hear a click and the voltage on those 2 14.4v pins drops to zero. Any ideas if its the power supply of something on the main board sending a signal back to shut down the tv?

disconnect one of the cables going from the tcon to the panel. Try turning on the tv. What happens? Do the same test with other cable.

Just tried that and nothing changes, when I turn on power it takes maybe 2 or 3 seconds then the clicking noise comes from power supply board and the led code flashes power led flashes twice and opc led flashes 5 times

Need good clear straight on pictures of back of tv with cover off and each board.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

I just did the hard reset again by plugging in AC while holding the vol down and input button, once again all the backlights come on but nothing else will work. No way to access menu or change input. In this state is does allow all the proper voltages to hold on the psb. I do notice a small blinking red light on the main board. The light flashes next to RDA8001, not sure if that is normal.

No if I hold my lead on that pin and power up the tv is goes to .6v before the click noise is heard and then the volts drop to zero

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                                by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
                                by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...

Greetings - first post. I'm awed that a forum like this exists. It's a dream come true. I'm not even kidding.

I've got a 13 year-old Sharp LC52LE700UN television that's developed a problem of powering itself off after 30-45 seconds. If I pull the mains cord and reconnect, it will come back on right away without so much as a button push...then turn off after 30-45 seconds.

Service manual S37X3LC46E77U is attached to this post, as well as a front and a back picture of the RDENCA336WJQZ DPS-286AP power supply taken after completing my work.
