RCA LED32B30RQD - Standby Only

Set is in standby and wont power up. In standby I get 5.02V on 5VSB and the rest of the pins are 0V. If Short PS-ON to GND with a 1K resistor I still get nothing. Anyone have history with these sets? Common issues. A quick google didn't turn up much in the way of Youtube repair tutorials. No burn marks on front or back of the power board or main board. I also don't have a remote so hoping its not just a power button issue but the lack of voltage on 12v or the other 5v pins is leading me to power board problems.

You need to connect 5VSB (5v) through a 1kOm resistor to PS-ON, then the power supply will start.
And the fact that it does not turn on (does not go into operating mode) is likely that the firmware is damaged.

Thanks Lotas! I just did that and have all 12v and 5v. However there was an unused 24v pin on a different part of the board and I probed that and it only has 18v on it. Not sure if its important as it doesn't have a connector soldered to it and its not being used. I do see that 18v jump to 19.2v in unison to a faint tick I can hear from the board. - This is all being done with the mainboard disconnected.

I was wondering if it would cause any damage to have the Main board plugged with the resistor still jumpering between PS-ON to 5VSB? Right now I just have the PS board running with the resistor and main board unplugged.

It's better not to take risks, and what will this give if your motherboard is not working correctly...
What is the number of your motherboard, what is the processor on it?

Im Not familiar enough to identify what IC is the processor But i See [ITE IT6633E-P 1311-CX0 VC0ALB] and [WINBOND W9751G6KB-25 63035V900ZY2 315HUA]. Unless its the chip under the heat sink.

You have a programmer to read dump from 25Q32, if you have an MStar processor, then you may be able to restore your dump if the problem is there.

According to the photo on the Internet, you have a processor under the heatsink. Do not tear it off (heatsink), otherwise you will damage the processor.
As I understand it, your motherboard (chassis) is T.RSC8.78, and it has a non-MStar processor, so I won't be able to restore it..

That is Unfortunate that is cant be repaired. I see that Shopjimmy.com offers a new eeprom chip preprogrammed for it. but i have went ahead and purchased a replacement main board.

I received a replacement main board today and installed it with the same results. I suppose its possible the main board i got was also defective. any other tests that might narrow this down?

Have you checked the button board to see how they work with a multimeter, maybe some button has a short circuit (has a leak inside) and, accordingly, others will not work..

It was the button control board, the power button was stuck. After disconnecting it and shorting the pins that would go to Power momentarily the set powered right on. I went back and checked my original main board, it was also good. Now I have a spare! I cleaned the button board and it's working again. Glad to have the TV back up and running. Thanks again!

Early in troubleshooting I tried to short the GND and Power button pins but still had the button board connected, thanks for pointing out that one of them could be stuck and blocking functionality of the others.

If anyone was curious I tried a RE010C878LNA-A1 main board instead of a RE010C878LNA-B1 and it still worked just fine. Shop Jimmy says they are different but they both worked with my hardware.

It looks like the B1 has connections and other components for an internal dvd player they are missing on the A1 board

The A1 Board I got had all the same connection points the B1 board had. Granted i didn't switch inputs to the internal DVD and test but it did have a spot for me to plug in the cable.
