I hear that, it's sick, the more people agree to tax hikes and usually just greedy renewals that they seem to want every year. I don't like to pick on the library but its the first thing that came to mind. They just rebuilt every library like mostly ground up, every library in the area and now they have another tax up for vote already. They did the same damn thing for the schools, tore m all down and rebuilt every one and I'm pretty sure some of m were only 20 years old. It just seems like a waste. I seldom use the library and haven't used a school in a long long time. Got to turn them down sometimes so we can at least eat, forcryingoutloud small exaggeration for effect but I think we're getting ripped off. Certain taxes are a necessary evil naturally, I just wish they kept strict watch on where the money goes because someone must be lining their pockets with gold.

[QUOTE=nomoresonys;n3329059]A thought is, with tcl being "kinda" unpredictable, it might not be a bad idea to have a backup mainboard if the price is decent ala post # 67. I see they ship to Canada, looks like around 45 CAD shipping included.[/QUOTE

I am not paying any more tax Dollars to our Liberals than I absolutely have to. Lately I am cheaper than @$$. Could I? Sure, no problem. Do I want to? No! Only if absolutely required.

Indeed, that would be cool, I'm not sure whats up with tcl but I was looking at how to manually update with usb on these recent models and didn't see any defined instructions. I might not have looked deep enough tho.

Yes. That pic is my board. I did notice the right LVDS cable being in there crooked. Anyway… I'll figure it out, but if it is just a flash… would be even a no parts required repair!.

Yeah, the 3800-001002 is the same for 55” and 65”. So unless the panel is short, this TV is a going again.

Nope. I just went down to see the main board number, but I'll get there…
put in that 30800 number in SJ and that one came out of a 55S450F. So mine and theirs had the identical number, even so mine is a 65”.

Pretty sure you need to match up that exact number to your tv.. so that would be the correct replacement if that is actually the correct board for the TV. Weird

Do my burning lil eyes see a TTL port on the back of the main board that waits for me to be mutilated? Interesting. I might have to try that!
Something else. I did open up the back of that thing to the the 30800-001002 number printed on the main board. Well, supposedly on SJ, TCL uses the same main board number on a 55S450F? Does this work on a TCL?

I've got an older DSOX Agilent 100Mhz oscilloscope. I already had to fix the power supply in it... there should be a thread about it around here somewhere.

With china cranking them out, it's very possible. They don't care of course, hence the children's pull toys painted with lead paint, drywall in the medicine etc. etc.
