Please help me understand what has gone wrong with my monitor so I can throw it away!
I have a HP1950g monitor that has suddenly decided to display only the backlight. Reading through the web encouraged me to have a go to fix the problem hoping it would simply be a loose wire. Having got the monitor apart I discover the cables all appear to be secure. Fearing a blown capacitor I strip all the boards out looking for the tell tell signs of a faulty cap'. None show up but undeterred I am able to obtain two other monitors identical which work but have water damage in the LCD spoiling the image. I strip all boards I can and swap them into my monitor one by one with hope fading until I'm left with nothing else to swap out. The only board left is the one attached directly to the LCD screen itself.
Is it possible to change this, or am I waisting my time?
