Please help me understand what has gone wrong with my monitor so I can throw it away!
I have a HP1950g monitor that has suddenly decided to display only the backlight. Reading through the web encouraged me to have a go to fix the problem hoping it would simply be a loose wire. Having got the monitor apart I discover the cables all appear to be secure. Fearing a blown capacitor I strip all the boards out looking for the tell tell signs of a faulty cap'. None show up but undeterred I am able to obtain two other monitors identical which work but have water damage in the LCD spoiling the image....
