    AS15-G Chip

I am replacing another AS15 gamma chip and one of the pads (pin #9) came off on removal of the old chip. The best I can tell scraping the board around where the pad was, there is no traces connected to it. The 2 pads adjacent do have traces. The pin is labeled as "Go" on the datasheet. Does anyone know if I'll be OK? Thanks!

"Go" is probably channel G output, if there is nothing connected to "Gi" (channel G input) you should be OK.

Great it doesn't look like anything comes to "Gi" either, thanks Tom.

That fixed it. TV had bad color/contrast symptom.

Interesting, did not know 40" panels were affected too.

I've had this problem mostly in 40" models, and some 37". I love when I find them.

I think almost all I have done have been AUO panels.

Oh I had the same model sony with the same brightness contrast problem. Turned out to be the AS15 chip, but for some reason it was much harder to remove than the other tcons ive done. Ended up ripping off 10 traces and had to do a crazy wiring job for it...

Just got one of these panels with T-con 55.40T02.C06 however I can not find the chip for sale. Does anyone know where I could find it. Shopjimmy is out, even though there amazon listing says they have some.
Not really sure where to look.
                    Any help would be appreciated.
                    Thanks

I don't think these chips like too much heat when you change 'em--so keep in mind when fitting...

I've got mine from AliExpress, and to echo what Alastair says they are sensitive to heat.
