50" insignia turns on and off repeatedly

My tv is turning on and off repeatedly anytime it is plugged into the wall. You can hear a click like the tv is coming on and then about 5-10 seconds later will click and go off. It will repeat this process over and over. The screen and sound never makes it on.

I took the back cover off to see if any obvious signs of a capacitor blown or bulged. I didn't see anything that looked out of place. I also didn't notice any burn marks on the boards.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Unplug ysus from the power supply then plug in tv and try powering up..does the power supply still click on and off?

To clarify, if you are new to PDP (plasma display panel) repair then this is Y-sustain/Ysus (LG terminology), or Y-main (Samsung terminology.)

If you look at the first picture I posted, I unplugged the top left plug and the clicking stop. Is this the one you are talking about?

yes now plug that back in in on the board on the left unplug and disconnect the upper and lower board that connects the panel to that bored and power up does The clicking stop still or is it still clicking? these two boards that you will be disconnecting are called buffer boards

Never mind that. The buffers are part of the ysus. Do you see any burn marks on the square ic's on the left of that board where the ribbons connect to the panel?

Do you have access to a voltmeter. We are going to have to do some voltage checks.

I have one we use when working on vehicles. I will grab it tonight and see what it does for us. I have only used it a couple times.

Ok sorry I have been out snow plowing the past few days.

Here is the tester I have. Let me know if this will do the trick.

What do I need to test?

                    Thanks again.

That should work, before starting, check a fresh 1.5V AA battery or a car battery to make sure it is functioning properly. (Too many failing multimeters causing odd readings!)

Check the VS and VA voltages from the power supply -- approx 200V and 60V respectively, though compare against plasma panel sticker to be sure.

Yes, but also there are typically test points on the power board.

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

The problem is that it always turns off after a few seconds (sometimes it stays on a bit longer, between 30 and 60 seconds, but it still turns off). The power light turns on and the bluetooth light starts blinking, but both abruptly turn off again. The "turn off sound" is still played after the lights turn off. Sometimes, it also loops the on-off cycle several times without me pressing any buttons. If I connect an AUX cable, music...
