You will need to unsolder both ends of the fuse. Perhaps replace it with a fuse and holder - easier if it blows again.

Remove the green disc and advise if any numbers on it. Looks like a Thermistor.

Unfortunately there may be more damaged components
Test the bridge rectifier if it has one or diode bridge id not.
Good clear pictures of your boards will help us help you

thats a thermistor, just check your fuse for open, caused by a transient surge, wont harm to check your bridge rectifier, and smoothing cap for a bulge while your at it.

for testing replace it with a 5ohm metal oxide resistor,if all good and works ,replace the thermistor, and fuse, you could replace this with a pico fuse,if you cant get the right one.

but power up the tv with series lightbulb across the fuse holder, without a fuse in it ,if it goes bright and dims down, your good to go

i noticed the manufacture date on the back and Samsung are sending engineers tomorrow to look at the TV under warranty

It looked like something had spilt on the back so cleaned everything up, I presume they will replace the power board

If not i will do as you both suggested thanks for the help.

he is in the uk,ive known the voltages here to be around 240v~ 255v~,probs from a national grid switch-over causing a surge, and

An NTC like that doesn't fail from such an event. The power supply probably has had a short at or after the bridge rectifier to cause that.

Um801s or equivalent voltage regulator found on the same heat sync as the dc converters probably went belly up. Look for shorted diodes off the rectifier to be a sign.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

hi all quick update - engineer came and tried replacing the PS

Now all it does is blinks

So he has taken away to repair at workshop

The PS failing has taken something else out the engineer suspects the mainboard

He asked if its ok to take as i will be a couple of days, i didnt mind just wanted it working again *cough*

the manufacture date was august 2013 - but it had something spilt on the back which much have bridge something on the PS as i found 2 wires that trace across the board burnt out also.

                              Just an update

TV returned - in the end they replaced the Y-Main, speakers and PS

also got a new stand off them for £33 as i didnt get it with one so all in all a great find

think this one is going to be a keeper just have to decide what room and what goes now lol

Seriously, don't keep one of these. They are terribly badly built and the brightness is really low. Pick up a Panasonic 42PZ80 (1080p) or 42PX80 (720p) with 10blinks fault.

                                      Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

                                      Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

                                      Display issue Samsung TV UA65JS9000W
                                      by FourRunner
I purchased a used Samsung TV model UA65JS9000W recently knowing it had an issue with the screen. When switched on the picture was bright both sides of the screen but a little darker in the middle of the screen. Thinking this was the back lights (side mounted LCD strips) I replaced these, however the issue is still there. I am now thinking it may be a TCOM issue, but am not sure, any advice on this would be appreciated. Also whilst changing out the back lights I noticed the the thick clear plastic sheet (maybe 1.5 to 2mm thick) below the diffusers there is cracking (up to 75mm) on the sides and...

Samsung UE48JU7000 screen issue after backlight replacement
                                      by ScHAmPi
                                      Hi all,

Because of two bright spots and a couple of dark spots I decided to replace the backlights in my Samsung UE48JU7000. See attached photos:

I thought all went well, but after full assembly and testing it out it turns out not all is fine. The backlights are completely fine but I have some weird issues on the right half of the screen. Since I didn't really touch the T-CON board (apart from taking out the ribbons of the display and reconnecting them on assembly) it would be weird that the issue is with the T-CON board... But based on the behavior of the service...
