sounds like tab bonds - bane of LG panels as it's -usually- not fixable unfortunately, my luck has been poor with them 0 out of 3 LG panels with tabs fault repaired successfully.

The tabs ive already decided to clamp if i get any moreflikering but the lightening and dimming?

could be main board try flicking between picture modes and turning all dynamic contrast etc off. Does it appear in menus. Whole screen or just part?

tried menu settings, and yep its in menus, thats how i saw it with the torch

Well i had a go at the plastic ribbon connectors that look like selotape coming from the thin lcd panel to the strip of circuit board on top of the lcd casing. I used some tin foil wraped around the end of soldering irn and applied heat to the contact part of the plastic with it touches the millions of thin metal contacts, it stuck it back down well

Until i forgot to support the lcd panel and it fell out of the case and pulled the plastic strips connectors from the actual panel! Damit! they looked like the were stuck on with a very thin strip of silicone of some sort

Ahwell, while i was doing it aswell, the flashing screen had stopped happening until it fell

That meens i have all the internals working apart from the screen ! Anyone need anything ? lol

Sorry to bump an old thread, but im a newbie here.
I have this model tv which i have been given, with a black screen and multi coloured lines. I have no knowledge regarding tv's but am handy with tools. I understand they consist of an lcd panel, and various circuit boards, but woth my lack of knowledge ab unable to diagnose the fault.

It doesnt have any visible lcd damage, which makes me question its possibly a board fault? Any help would be much appreciated
