Sony 55EX500 Faulty Transformer On D1 Board?

I've got a Sony 55EX500 with a 6 flash error indicating a problem with the backlight circuitry. I have opened up the panel and all the tubes work. I have also tried replacing the inverter board which has not worked and checked all the test points for an over-current error but nothing. The D1 board is also getting 375v DC from the power board as it should.

The TV powers on for about a second displaying the Sony logo and playing a startup tune but the logo appears dim. The TV also makes a buzzing sound which at first I thought was coming from a small buzzer on the D1 board but I now believe after listening as more closely that the buzz is coming from the transformer.

On two of the transformer legs there is dis-colouration suggesting a short. I've just waited 2 weeks for the inverter board to come from the US and even with Express shipping for a D1 board I don't really want to wait. Are these transformers available at electronics shops?

Did you try re-soldering the legs of the transformer? Resistance wise looks good or bad?

I've removed the transformer and put it back in so I guess I've re-soldiered it. Whats the resistance wire?

I've ordered a new D1 board from the US with Express Postage so hopefully that will solve it if I'm right.

Did you compare the resistance between transformers?

I don't have the new transformer yet.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
              by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

              Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
              by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
              CN6401
              Pin 01 NC
              Pin 02 NC
              Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
              Pin 04 "N/C"
              Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
              Pin 06 "GND": N/C
              Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Sony Vaio SVS MBX-261 board failure
              by delpiero3
Hi everyone, newcomer in this forum, i watched tons of video from Sorin, i like the way i calmly explain things, i did quite some console repair, i am not that bad at micro-soldering, but troubleshooting where the issue is, is definitely where i still have progress to make. Usually i was able to fix the console because the failure was obvious, or because i was able to find someone with similar measures on the board and was pinpointing what to replace that way.
Nevertheless, let's say, i don't come as a total beginner.
I have this old laptop, which suit perfectly my needs, with the...

Sony KDL-40Z4500 LCD with stripes and 9 blinks (possible BGC board or harness problem
              by huj3r
              Hi there!

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.

Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:

After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.

I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:

              > This indicates HFR Communication error. [ HFR Communication...
