    Panasonic TC P54VT25 Loud POP

    Hello

I am new to the forum searching for some help. I have bee ncouring the Internet with very little success.

The other day I turned on the power to my surge supressor, the power up the Panasonic Viera plasma. There was a very loud pop from the rear and the smell of burnt electronics. I also have the 10 LED blinks.

Following the troubleshooting instructions from these forms, I tried unplugging the SC and then the SS boards. There is no sound at either step and the LED always flashes 10 times.

This leads me to think that it is the power supply board (ETX2MM807MVH F2). There are absolutely no signs of burning or discolouration on the board and all of the fuses check. The capacitors do not show any signs of buldging or leakage, and all of the Zener diodes appear intact. Also there is no further smell of residual burning.

If anyone has any ideas of where to look for damage, the help would be very much appreciated. What bothers me the most about this "blowout" is that the tv has less that 50 hours run time in nearly 3 years.

    Thanks for your replies.

    Steve

    First item may help:
    http://www.toms-service-manuals.com/...&typekey=0&p=1

    SM:

10 blinks is probably SC or SS shorted to 15V causing over volt.

Thanks for the reply Tom66. I just want over those boards with a magnifying glass and there are no obvious signs of burns or bulges. My electronic knowledge is pretty basic, what should I look for?

I have the manual downloaded from elektrotanya. The first link did not have my model number.

      Thanks Steve

Suggests you post good clear pictures of the set with the back off and front and back of each board. Bangs and smell do not usually leave no clue. Have you found any fuses?
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

When you disconnected the SC board and still got SOS10, was the ribbon at SC20 removed ?

If you have a multimeter and assuming it's a SC board failure here's some suggestions.

          Check:

Short cct across the SC2 pins

          Shorted out transistors

eg. Q16661(Q661) a common one, most of the heatsinked ones can go short.

FET driver IC521, I've seen the odd photo of that one burnt. The 15V feeds that IC, resistance across Diode D790 on the SC just around the Sc20 area should be about 1.4-1.5 Kohms. If it's low a good indication IC521 is bad.

SMD resistors around that can burn, so too gate resistors on the transistors,

I've had a tiny 3.9K smd resistor make a loud pop and smoke , very hard to see, a jewellers magnifier helps with the really small stuff. Realistically, you only need to find 1 shorted transistor or Sc2 to deem the SC bad and quicker than spotting potentially a pinhole in some smd component.

The G20/G25 guide may also help a little although the 3D models are different but the SC is similar.

Thanks to all that replied. It was the SC board. Panasonic replaced the board for free. I did have to pay for a diagnostic and house call. Hope this thread helps some one else with the same problem.

LG 65UQ8000AUB no backlight burning smell
              by howardc64
Only 3 years old. Owner said backlight went out and burning smell. Didn't bother plugging in to check if had power LED. Just opened the TV rear and found shorted bridge rectifier diode on the backlight circuit on the PSU. SF26G (400V 2A super fast recovery rectifier link ) diode replace with SF26 (what I had on hand) Google AI said G = Green Components.

Burn looked pretty bad on the board but just was blackened carbon coating material. Scraped and cleaned off quite well and clean solder pad for the new diode.

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
              by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
              by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Philips 43PUS7506/12 - Loud blown out sound
              by aidanmo
              Hello,

I've got a really strange issue with the speakers on my Philips 43PUS7506/12. It makes this awful loud buzzing now. It happened after it was attempted to be wall mounted - I think the back got squeezed and something broke.
I thought maybe the speakers got damaged, so I replaced them - no dice.
              • Using the internal speakers, it always happens.
              • Using the headphone jack, it never happens.
              • Using the digital/optical out with a soundbar - it happens after about 2h/movie runtime - it's never as drastic, it just pops in and out, but I didn't want it to damage the sound bar

              Hey....

Board as written in description was stuck at VGA LED. common Problem wit these type of bords.... tried all the "standard stuff" like resettin... reseatin.... found out the LED Controller MCU1 = IT8295FN-56A geting burning hot under the last PCI Slot.. now i desoldered it cause there were only 18 ohms at the caps arround.... another aorus x470 in working condition with similar part and nearly same layout had arround 280 ohms...

my question is: why doesnt the board start know without this chip.... worked myself through the boardview but i can´t understand...
