Relative to eachother: 100ohm both.
Relative to ground: 4.6KOhm both.
They are not shorted to eachother.
Unfortunately scoping and BGA has to wait too, I forgot about the holidays and family time.. 😆Comment

nomoresonny point it to EMMC. but its not... but BGA on vision Chips 100%Comment

And also check the area where the eeprom was missing, maybe before you, when the eeprom was dismantled, the resistors were removed or damaged, compare with the original board and use a multimeter to call these lines (sda, scl) from this eeprom chip through the lvds cable to the motherboard to see if they reach.Comment

hold om.... i just read yours first post..... you need to do all test i wrote before on yours original t-conHello guys.
Today I got this TV for free, the friend included a "new" (used) TCON with it, since he told me, that doesn't work either.
With the stock TCON, this TV turns on, stays on, but the screen only has 5 RED vertical lines on it, and that's it.
Backlight stays on and is fine.
With the "new" TCON, the TV turns on, shows SONY logo, some spinning circles, then the TV goes blank, and the stand-by LED is blinking 5 times, won't react to anything.
I have read some forums, where it's been told that the part number is not always enough to be the same, because TCONs might still have different components on them - but they are all the same, triple-checked everything under a microscope.
I have switched all NAND/SPI chips over, in case they have an identification number in them, but that didn't help either.
No missing components.
While the TV is ON (before it turns off with 5 blinks), the picture on the screen is perfect. Not a single bad pixel, line, or whatever.
Unplugging different sides of the screen won't make a difference either.
Do you have any ideas?Comment

But 100 Ohm between sda and scl seems low to me, check which side (t-con or motherboard), you need to disconnect the lvds cable.Comment

Mods, don't you think you need to censor all smartass remarks, not just mine. Don't give a shit regardless.Last edited by nomoresonys; 12-24-2023, 09:58 AM.Comment

Vision - it gets very hot, which was not even saved by the original radiator and because of this, the BGA balls on which the processor was soldered degraded. After a reboot and installation of a more powerful radiator + installation of a fan, the motherboard continued to live.Comment

I also don't care for the new cookie policy, about how this site shares info and also said something about may not even be based in the U.S.A. So where is this site based?? If it is based in the States then why did I read this cookie policy here on this site??Comment

exactly... also i can add the poor quality manufacture... when they set the controller camera in wrong way or at more tolerance at time it checking the board after placing the pasta on it... so how it come become this as General issue !!!Vision - it gets very hot, which was not even saved by the original radiator and because of this, the BGA balls on which the processor was soldered degraded. Hi nomoresonys, thank you for your contributions to the forum. I see you're very active on here so all your contributions are appreciated. On "censoring smartass comments"... I would say that occasional smartass comments without vulgarity are fine and not an issue. If a member frequently makes them it can lead to a negative environment and that becomes a problem. I want everyone to keep things helpful and positive. I'm new to the forum so I'm not saying this directly to you but just as a general rule. I've not even looked at your post history just generalizing here.

by brithepi2kHi,
I’ve got a Sony KD-65XE8596 here that has no standby light coming on. I’ve tested the power board with the test meter, the TV needs 3.4 for the standby but only getting 2.4. Anything that I can change/check on the board to get it working? Pictures of the board are included.
cheers...5 Photos -
by iglitareHi,
i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.
Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted... -

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.
When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.
I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped... -
by thelankanguyThe TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?... -
by GoodCapDudeHi everyone. First post on Badcaps!
I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot.... - Loading...
