Error code 14 blinks found 3amp ceramic fuse on TCon board blown. Replaced fuse and tried T again with both panel connectors not connected on top of Tcon board. Screen lights with dark grey picture and green led power light on. Powered TV off reconnected both panel connectors this time after a few seconds with green led lit error code 14 starts flashing again. Found that attaching the panel connectors caused the fuse to blow again. Is it likely its a bad tcon or more likely a bad panel thats causing this fault?? Anybody any ideas?? Grateful for any comments.

More likely to have shorted out TFT driver IC, or shorted out caps (MLCC) the long board where the LCD flexible PCB is attached to, the TFT ISs are on the flexible PCB. So not likely to be repairable.Never stop learning

Hi all, the TV KDL-40W2000 was flashed by a lightning.
Firstly I got the 3 red blink code.
Following other threads I changed the power supply board and got always 3 blinks.
So I changed also the mainboard and now I get 2 blinks error code. Tried also with the other ps board, still getting 2 blinks.
The TV turns on for a minute or two with green led and blank screen, if I press buttons the green led blinks fast. It turns to 2 red blinking led after a while.
What else can I do?... -

Hi,
I have this set. It turns on and is watchable for a few minutes but then shuts off and flashes 4 red lights.
I don't work on Sony much but assumed it was backlights from what I read.
Opened up the TV and tested all the backlights with led tester and the all work.
I know sometimes that doesn't mean anything since it's not running at full current but I hate to spend $120 on backlights (shopjimmy) is the only one that even has them just to find out I missed something.
So anyway to test these lights similar to the way we test... -
I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.
The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:- Plug AC in to back of TV
- After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
- The 3 blink code is given by the power LED

Hi everyone. First post on Badcaps!
I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot....
