I have the adapteer now and I ordered also a microsd of 128 MB hoping to emulate an old memory stick. Anyway I don't know how to start the f/w upgrade process as the tv enters the red blinking very soon....

Update: Today I turned on the TV with the remote sequence for the service menu and it started the 1-blink error code. What do you think?Leave a comment:

2 red blink code on old led tv Sony KDL-40W2000
Hi all, the TV KDL-40W2000 was flashed by a lightning.
Firstly I got the 3 red blink code.
Following other threads I changed the power supply board and got always 3 blinks.
So I changed also the mainboard and now I get 2 blinks error code. Tried also with the other ps board, still getting 2 blinks.
The TV turns on for a minute or two with green led and blank screen, if I press buttons the green led blinks fast. It turns to 2 red blinking led after a while.

Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000 flashing
Hello all!
A lightning burned this TV, Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000 that shows the 3-flash error code.
I have read old threads here about this issue and I'm writing this just to ask an advice.
First I replaced the power supply board (25€) just to discover that the issue remains. Now I have the option to replace the mainboard too (the one with HDMI ports) for another 40€.
Considering I'm not a professional technician just an enthusiast, what would you do? Thanx in advance. -
