Did you try Aaron's board yet? In many cases ShopJimmy will say no when they do not know. I have done lots of screen size swaps, basically the only major concern is 1080p vs 720p and getting panel sticker right (LG into LG, etc.)

    Hello Matthew,

No, sorry but these boards are not interchangeable.

    Thank you,

Aaronwt6 I did not think you meant that at all. I am glad you said something because who knows it could not have had it and i would have never known. Ha I will be first to admit that i only know enough to be dangerous.

And mmoore5553, I certainly wasn't saying you didn't know what was going on but I've seen these things simply missing from the factory too so it never hurts to ask. I'd hate it for both of us if you got the board, it worked for a day or two, then died from overheating.

lol I hear ya Tom. I just got in to this a year ago and now I'm building a shop in the back yard to be able to handle the salvage stuff. Yes, I get some returns but it's mostly mis-ordered parts or people that just don't know what they are doing. All in all I'd say around 5% return rate with less than half that actual dead boards. I blame badcaps for getting me into this mess.

It's well worth it when you get kind comments from people that do get their TVs going.

I got 300 more on the way from a salvage place in a few weeks. If that one doesn't do it, I'll keep in touch if I happen to come across the 47" version. Who knows.

I have tons of screws but I'd have no idea what's what. Yes, on the pad. That's what I was talking about. Make sure that sits back squarely on top of the chip when you install the new board. You can power it up to make sure it comes on but don't let it run for any length of time without the cover installed to prevent damage. I swear some of the boards I get back damaged were due to things like this. I've asked people about it before and gotten answers like, I thought that was just a spacer or cushion.

Anyway, board is headed out in the morning and I'll be looking forward to an update.

I took a picture of the thermal compound. This is the first time i seen some like this as i am use to computer processor compound. I hope that is what you are talking about. Curious do you have screens for the stand ? I do not have them but i do have the base. Or do these not use screws ?

Worst case, it was $5.27 to ship and whatever it costs for you to ship it back.

Also, if I recall there was a large slab of thermal compound on the big Broadcom chip in the middle. Do you have that or do I need to send one with it? I see some of these have a heat sink but this one does not. It had the thermal compound and a cover over it that it heat sinks to. You definitely need to make sure it's heat sinked or it will die in short order.

I've also noticed that there is many more instances this works on with older sets. Seems the newer ones have less part sharing for different models. I had a bunch of old Samsungs a month ago and there were several interchangeable control boards from 40"-46"-52" models.

Shopjimmy doesn't have it as a cross reference. I'm seriously doubting it'll work.
If the 47" has an LG panel and the 52" had an LG panel then most likely yes.
Given the semi custom dual LVDS (120Hz motion on main board) it is likely this series is designed for only LG panels.
