LG 50PK250 Plasma Fixed! Thanks forum.

So two days ago, my almost 3 year old LG plasma suddenly had a wide line show up on the right side of the screen (1" wide). Of course, I'm not that stoked about this, and a call to LG resulted in a quote for $280 for whatever is wrong with the set. Took a pass and found this forum.

Worst part is the TV hasn't moved from where it has been since it came home.

Since there was still activity in the wide stripe (made up of many little stripes), information in this forum suggested that the panel might be OK, but it could be a board or ribbon connector.

So I unattached the main ribbon for this side of the panel and reconnect. No change.

Then I moved the back plate out of the way (careful the entire panel doesn't fall out when you play with the braces!), and cleaned and resat the gold ribbon cable in the approximate area where the stripe was.

TV is now working like new, thanks to the great help being provided on this forum (especially Tom66 - doing a great job).

I'm sure I'll be back for something else - just wish I wasn't so hesitant to start the soldering project in the high voltage area of my Space Invaders Pinball solenoid control board. Apparently the traces are easy to damage, and the boards are difficult to replace.
