So two days ago, my almost 3 year old LG plasma suddenly had a wide line show up on the right side of the screen (1" wide). Of course, I'm not that stoked about this, and a call to LG resulted in a quote for $280 for whatever is wrong with the set. Took a pass and found this forum.

Worst part is the TV hasn't moved from where it has been since it came home.

Since there was still activity in the wide stripe (made up of many little stripes), information in this forum suggested that the panel might be OK, but it could be a board or ribbon connector.

I'm only here because stuff breaks.

I like stuff, and my friend who used to fix my electronics passed away, so now I need to fix my own stuff.

But site seems like its got great info.

Good info on this forum for a variety of applications.

Need some help myself, but have a feeling I'll be back here often between plasmas, audio gear, and pinball machines.
