Re: Vizio VO320E Bad Power Supply Board

Sorry man, I got sidetracked last night. Here's a picture of my board. The number of importance is on the label. With the panel disconnected, the tv powers on and off with the button. I can't say for sure if that points to a functioning board but I can try to get voltages for you if you want.

That looks like the same board. The label decal on yours says 3632-0842-0150(6B)
        Mine says 3632-0842-0150(6G).

I don't know if the number in parentheses matters.

If you want to sell it email me. I'd be happy to buy it from you if that is OK.

        Regards,

        John

Re: Vizio VO320E Bad Power Supply Board

I was wondering. Is there any chance that the power surge zapped the data on the EEPROM and didn't damage it.

If so, I see a USB port on the Mainboard. Can the EEPROM be "reprogrammed" and if so, how?

Re: Vizio VO320E Bad Power Supply Board

Some Vizios could reprogram the EEPROM through the VGA port (through the use of a special jig provided by Vizio), but I'm not sure if this applies to this set.

Re: Vizio VO320E Bad Power Supply Board

Thanks for the reply Tom. I was just wondering about reprogramming the EEPROM. I searched these forums and found a post where a forum member purchased a programmer here:

                http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/stor...namicIndex.asp

But then you need the bin file.

Apparently the replacement EEPROMS are pre-programmed.

                Anyway,

Johnboy1313 is selling me his Main Board and Power Board from his broken set. I cannot thank him and the rest of you who were kind enough to help me enough. I'll post back the results and if I mess with the parts I remove at some point and discover anything useful I'll post it back here as a hopefully helpful future follow up for others.

                John

                  Follow-up

I received the Main Board from John (johnboy1313) and installed it using my original power supply.

It worked like a charm. Tested it for 15-18 hours and it performed flawlessly.
                  My Main Board sticker was 3632-0842-0150 (6G) and John's was 3632-0842-0150 (6B)

The imprinted number on the circuit board for both
                  main boards is 0171-2271-2846.

His power supply was a little different which is why he recommended I use my original one. My power supply is 0500 - 0407 - 0730 and John's is 0500 - 0412 - 0730.

I cannot thank John enough for his help as well as everyone on this wonderful forum.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.

                  Regards,

                  John
