The upper is measuring 6 Meg ohms to gnd. The lower is measuring 350k to gnd. They were both measuring 300k yesterday.

I tested the buffer boards just like the guy in the video and they are fine. I don't understand where the pop and flash came from.

I think I got a bad y main from eBay here. It's buzzing much louder than it should be and when I disconnect it, the rest of the boards seem to be functional.

Well he actually refunded my money so I went back to my original y main hd and replaced the fet under the heat sink that was shorted as well as d 5018. All the other diodes seemed ok. Put everything back together, homed out the buffer boards and put them back in. Powered it on and pop, there goes that horrible noise again. Does anyone know what that is? Is this thing ready for the hammer?

Decided to give this dog another look. I replaced the bad MOSFET under the heat sink on the y main and some resistors that didnt look too good. Got it all back together again and it did fire up with good audio but no video at all. The screen is not even glowing. I tweaked all the voltages to match the panel sticker. I've come a long way on this one and I'm so close but I'm not sure what to do next. Anybody with an assist?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                      by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Samsung UN55H8000AF - No Picture, Working Backlight, Replaced T-Con Board
                      by ermals
                      Hi all!
I've recently run into an issue with my Samsung UN55H8000AF LED TV displaying no image. I've done quite a bit of research in terms of what could be wrong with it. Below are the steps I've taken prior to reaching out here for some assistance:

                      1. I've tried replacing the T-Con board (BN95-01594A), twice and have still experienced the same issue with all the boards I've tested with.
                      2. I've tried to remove one side of the ribbon cable that goes from the T-Con board to the panel and still not getting any image on left or right side.
                      3. I've checked voltages...
