Re: Hitachi P50H4011 Plasma no picture
Not sure if you fixed those horizontal lines yet or not, but I'm not kidding when I say it took me 5 or 6 tries to get those ribbon cables seated properly. I needed a lot of light and a magnifier lens for these old eyes. You will see tiny plastic tabs on the ribbon cable itself. They have to be inserted perfectly straight into the slots inside the connector.

Re: Hitachi P50H4011 Plasma no picture
I fixed two of these and the first one needed only the lower scan buffer and the second one only needed the upper. Both sets needed the same two caps replaced on the power supply board. The y sus boards are pretty tough in these things.

Re: Hitachi P50H401
Those lines just about line up with the connector that needs to be reseated. Note which connector(s) need to be reseated then turn the power off and unlatch the connector and pull the ribbon cable out and push it back in perfectly straight and snap the clamp down. Turn the power back on and check the picture. You might have to do this many times. If there are no lines adjacent to a connector, DON'T TOUCH IT.

Re: Samsung HP-R4252 42 in plasma. No picture
Decided to give this dog another look. I replaced the bad MOSFET under the heat sink on the y main and some resistors that didnt look too good. Got it all back together again and it did fire up with good audio but no video at all. The screen is not even glowing. I tweaked all the voltages to match the panel sticker. I've come a long way on this one and I'm so close but I'm not sure what to do next. Anybody with an assist?

Re: Lg-42pc3d-ue
You are going to have to check the y buffer as well, sometimes they blow together. I found a set of both boards on eBay for less than $100 and when I installed them, it fired up nicely......Except it had a thin black vertical line down the screen, bad plasma panel. So it's definitely a crap shoot with this model.

Re: Samsung Plasma PN43D490A1DXZA Vertical lines middle of the screen
Well, I think it looks like the plasma display is bad. You can try to reseat those ribbon cables that you disconnected when you replaced the x main. They have to be just perfect. Change the aspect ratio of the screen from 16:9 to 4:3 and back again. If those lines didnt move, probably thaw plasma panel.

Re: LG 42PC3D 1 lane severed on Y Buffer ribbon
Finally got my buddy over here who is an expert soldered and he rigged up a microscope on the damaged ribbon, scraped the insulation off 3 or 4 lanes of the ribbon. Then he soldered little wire jumpers across the damaged lanes. First he did one side and rtv'd down and let it cure for a day, then soldered the other side down and coated that with rtv. It took care to the horizontal lines but I still have one vertical line on the right hand side, black and 1 pixel thick from top to bottom. Re seated the cables all over the place many...

Re: Hitachi P50H401A fixed but flashes of black
Well now as I was measuring those voltages at the connector on the power supply, I noticed there were two screws missing that not only hold the board to the chassis, but supply ground to that section. I assumed all the grounds were tied together. So I put in the screws and now the tv stays on with no dropouts at all. I've been watching it for a few days now and everything is good. I'm gonna put this one in the win column, thanks for leading me to the problem.

Re: Hitachi P50H401A fixed but flashes of black
I just measured Va and Vs and waited for the screen to blank again and yes, both voltages drop out completely to 0 for a second or two until the video comes back on. I do believe the glow disappears also. I guess with no voltages present, the glow would disappear. What does this tell us Tom?

Hitachi P50H401A fixed but flashes of black
Well this is the third one of these I have fixed by doing exactly what I read here. Replaced the two 3300uF, 100v caps on the power supply and the lower y scan buffer. Cradeal.com has always given me quality y scan boards for about $62. So it fired up beautiful, done deal. I put the many, many screws back in an buttoned it up. But this time I noticed that when you turn it on, it flashes to black screen for a couple seconds and beautiful picture returns. It does this every now and then after that. Whenever you change the channel it goes black for a second and comes back. If you switch to an standard...

Re: 6871qyh948b ysus board
I just repaired one of these and it's still got the back off. I'm working all night but I will check this post tomorrow and see if you got your answer. Did you need the value or the location on the board? Also I think I have one of these boards with a shorted ipm if you need parts.

LG 42PC3D 1 lane severed on Y Buffer ribbon
Picked this up for $30 and a box of extra boards because this kid gave up on fixing it (red flag right there). Anyway, sound with no picture, blah blah. I read on here a hundred times, Y main and buffers. I replaced those and yes it fired right up with 1079 beautiful lines of HD video. However, I insist on all 1080 lines so I reseat the buffer cables a few time and still have one dead line. i notice now that the ribbon cable on the bottom is severed across one of the traces just about where the missing line is. I'm hoping this cable can be replaced or is this a deal breaker? Also have one black...

Re: Samsung lj92-01200A Y-SUS Board
I have been working on that same board and its a real pain, there are many posts about it here. There are 2 diodes and 2 resistors that need to be checked on this unit also. If you click on my screen name to see my other post, these guys outlined it in detail. In addition to that, you basically need to check every single diode and fet on the board because sometimes you get a random bonus pop along with the usual parts that always blow. Really bad design.
