Fruitless so far on the search. I can't find any one board that has all of them.

I'm out of manuals, don't have one with that last board in it. It would have to be cheap but if it's closely related it may help fault finding testing in cct.

Crazy stuff but I have purchased very cheap SS boards to strip for some hard bits for my SC boards.

I found the schematic on it but it's only got 3 of the 8 I need.

Really do appreciate your efforts too.

I get a little interested when someone wants to do this but be prepared it may all go up in smoke. Done the next model G20/25 etc a few times now, these I have no idea what the common failure is but at least one person replaced just the IGBT and they blew straight up, hence you need to look deeper especially around the items blown.

use the schematics as much as you can, or my TNPA5081 post has the good, bad and ugly of my wins and stuff ups.

Yeah. I certainly understand that as well. That's why I'm having a tough time justifying $50-$100 on repair parts. TV may just need to go in the corner until I can find an entire board. I mean it's obviously bad with the parts I've pulled already.

And Caleb is in even worse shape with his.

Just found this in Austrailia. Part number is listed wrong.

Maybe you could pick it up for me. :-)

I was wondering why I did not see this, listed with wrong part number. I'm 4000k away and he posts O'seas. still a risk it may have been damaged powered if when the screen cracked.
Nothing to be gained by me getting it, maybe confirm it is in fact a TNPA4782 in case he has mixed the listing up. Still going to be $100 delivered we has expensive post, by sea would take forever i expect. very rare to see boards for sale here.

Yeah, I was just kidding around. At this point I wish I just had one to test the set with and verify the other boards are ok. I doubt I can get much more than $300 here with it fixed. I'd consider just selling the remainder of the boards and calling it a wash.

There are quite a few 50" PZ80 here in the UK with cracked screens, but none near me.

maybe quiz him on how he knows it's good or if how he tested it with a cracked screen. If he's smart he may have tried isolating the buffers, sc50 jumper and tried that but it may still spit out a fault and i suspect if the ss wa disconnected it would detect that but I've never tried anything like that on a cracked Tv.

I bought a whole suite of boards from a VT20(cracked screen), all good but they were not, Sc survived at least one buffer board was killed and also a c board had bad buffer ic as I found out when i scavanged the parts only to find faulty.

If he is honest and you ask him to check the same parts as yours to see if ok, maybe, but that too has not worked for me with 2 bad boards "tested" and after I highlighted certain parts to be checked. Some people could not be bothered.

paypal usually gets me out of trouble but thankfully always got a refund with no returns which helps.

That's what gave me a pile to play with and motivated me to component level repair the duds and now i have 3 spare for my TV,

Definitely gotten my share of duds on Ebay. I sell them too myself and have yet to have one returned to me. I pretty much don't list them unless it came out of a brand new set in the box with a broken screen, or if it's an LCD and I can make out at least part of the picture when it's plugged in.

there's a couple of differences with capacitors on tha V10 board but SJ has both AF and AB showing as fitted to the same panel number. Also a smaller version board 4829 for the U1/S10 same panel number.

The amount of board variations never ceases to amaze me. Especially between such similar model sets. I think I'm about done on the parts search on this one based on the cost. I'm just going to put the set in the corner and check frequently for an entire SC board at a better price. I'm only in on it $25 so no big deal.

                          Caleb,

I hope you have some success on yours as well.

WOW- this thread blew up while I was sleeping, I was able to salvage the diodes off another sc, Im kind of leary of dumping 40$ in parts only to have it go up in smoke again, I only need the 2 fet and the igbt so far. Im going to look some more and see if I can find someone who has them with reasonable shipping cost. If the replacement off digikey would work they are only 1.50 each, just have to find a replacement for that igbt, may call up panasonic and see how much they want for them.

This question for TOM is it at all possible to use an sc su sd combo from another similar model? Ive got a set from another 2009 model, and a set from a 2008. But I dont want to fry the panel.

If you manage to get your board fixed without any smoke you may reassure me to continue. :-) Sorry again for taking over your thread. At least it was kept on track.

I'd love to keep going with this but again I can't really see getting more than $300 for it fixed. I'm also missing the stand which is an issue.

You probably won't fry the panel...
But I doubt it will work.

Main reason is, if you are talking about for example PZ80 series SC and G10 series SC, there are entirely different panel voltages. Vsus for a G10 typically around 205V, whereas a PZ80 around 195V, which changes a lot of the ERC circuit parameters (problem with ERC: will shut down set on bright scenes due to PSU overcurrent.) Also -Vad typically -140V for a PZ80 and -180V for a G10.

Putting entirely different voltages into a panel is likely to result in severe maldischarge problems if it works at all.

Just requested a quote from utsource.net looks like I can get twice as many as I need shipped for 20$. only 4$ to ship
                                  6026=3$
                                  6065=1.80$

Quick question on that diode when I google the 8894 it comes back to a 33v zener but the part number from the book is a 400v 1 amp fast rectifier. Im sure ive got the right ones as I used scavenged parts but for someone looking to replace them the 8894 may be a red herring.

LOL aaron mine is missing the stand as well, I dont mind swapping boards if someone is paying me to fix it, but for one I plan on keeping I am frugal. Ive got a free 50" nexus with power board issues in the garage that I dumped over 65$ in parts and it still doesnt work, VERY FRUSTRATING

I think we've all been through it at least a time or too. I guess my biggest problem on this SC board is every other time I've attempted a repair on a board with multiple bad parts (other than blown caps) has been a failure. They either didn't work afterward or immediately smoked the replacement parts.

Mine will be sitting in the garage for the time being. Let me know if you need me to check / verify anything else for you (assuming the part is good on mine).

I've given you guys the part number for that diode, You read the data sheet ? ROHM RF101L4S Fast Recovery Diode,

Googling 8894 is pretty meaningless when 88 is the identifier, 94 for yours is the date code.

Your best chance would be the TNPA4829 from a 50", same panel number and same buffer boards.

There's a bunch of 46" boards for sale, you'd have to dig into the schematics and parts lists of the respective service manuals. At a glance all the same heatsinked items are populated on both, capacitors different, not sure about that orange module which could be unique.

I reckon the Vsus cabling would reach, SC20 ribbon ?? could come up short.

I have looked at my TNPA5081 and I think the 46 & 50 were essentially the same except capacitors.

It's all just theory until someone crazy enough tries it.

The ERC inductors will also be different, because the panel capacitance is difference, this will mean the ERC circuit will be less efficient and may lead to early failure or shutdown on bright scene.
