    Vizio VX552XVT Inverter problem?

I Have a Vizio VX552XVT and most of the bottom half of the screen is darker than the top half. It fades to a darker shade but still displays a picture. The backlight inverter board has a red light on it that flashes on and off continuously. The screen will flicker sometimes as well and the red light will go on and off with the screen flicker and make a clicking sound when it does it. Could this be a bad inverter board?

Here are some pics if anyone can help. The Clicking sound is coming from the board in the middle of the tv. I assume it is the panel that supplies the power.
Please help if you can. This is my first time taking apart a tv. I am also including a picture of what the screen looks like with the darkening effect. All of the capacitors look fine also.

This is an LED backlit TV, correct?

If so, appears that there is an issue with the bottom LED strip. (shorted LED(s))

Yes it is a LED backlit TV. Here is a better picture of the screen problem. As you can see there is half a shaded area on the top right half as well. If it is a LED Strip issue, is that easy to replace?

Ah, That is strange. Actually it doesn't look like a backlight problem, but I don't know what could be wrong. There are some other members on here that will know more ...

Is it normal for the red light on the inverter backlight board to flash red?

This is exactly the problem the backlight. LEDs are often overheated as a result of maximum brightness. This work is not so much difficult as demanding as to the accuracy. Be sure to use low-temperature solder for soldering the LEDs. But having no experience of such work is better not to make.

Can you point me in the direction of how to replace the LED's? Also is that clicking noise normal? Is does it constantly sometimes, but still displays a picture.

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
                      by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

For some reason I'm just not going to let this 19" TV defeat me. I guess because I have a schematic to work from I feel like I'm oh so close.

History- while adding a turn-on circuit I let a small screw roll under the power board. Worked through all of that circuitry, probably replacing a MOSFET and PWM controller that were not bad but I was following the service manual. Finally figured out that the power supply is in working order when the inverter section (for the backlights) is disconnected. When the +12 supply to the inverter is disconnected the +12 and +5 will come up...

No Power problem with Vizio E60-E3
                      by rajbot
                      Hi all:

I have a Vizio E60-E3 I am trying to troubleshoot a no power problem with. Thanks to the help on this board and elsewhere, I was pretty sure I had narrowed it to a power board problem. The board in question is a 09-60CAP0D0-00. Image attached for reference, but not of my board (tv is put away at the moment). FWIW, no obvious looking issues with the board.

I measured voltage at power in and on the fuse and saw 120V, so power is getting to the board.

On the pins out to the main board, I got no voltage at all on any of the pins. I assumed this...

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
                      by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                      1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                      2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
                      3. Problem: TV shuts down

Samsung flicker - BN44-00932T board or else?
                      by fixit007
I picked up this TV that the prior owner said - just died.

Tested the fuse - burnt. A dead capacitor is visible too on the hot side (CP801). Got the replacement power board (cheaply - used). Replaced the board - the TV turned ON!

Now, about a month later (yesterday) I noticed the left side of the screen was flickering from time to time. That was already happening with the antenna input, not through HDMI.

Also, some glitchiness with a Fire stick on HDMI3 - I hit an app with quick dark screen in stick, the TV goes - no input. Then I had to choose the stick...
