How do you troubleshoot this board? samsung hps4253 BN94-01081A

title is wrong the board below is what i am working on

How do I troubleshoot this board? PSU is putting out what seems to be the right voltage but relay is clicking on and off.

A common fault with these is cold solder joints.
First check all output voltages and PS ON signal. If PS ON is fluctuating, the main board could be bad.

Re: How do you troubleshoot this board? samsung hps4253 BN94-01081A

        From PSU
        VA's 65v
        VS's 200v
        Stnby 5v
        VT 33v

        From Main Board
CN101 pin 6 fluctuating it should be 18v
        CN102 Normal

so is this PSU problem or Main Board problem? is there a way to turn on PSU then check Voltages?

        Thanks Tom

To check PSU, with PSON, you will need a 100 ohm ~ 470 ohm resistor, do you have one?

OK, locate PSON pin (it will be labelled) on power supply connector. Unplug the connector from the main board end. Connect the PSON to ground through the resistor. Then plug power in. All voltages should rise and become stable except Vs/Va. Also the relays should only click once or twice. To test Vs/Va, unplug PSU then run a second resistor (PSON still needs jumpering) from VSON to 5V standby (not ground!) When plugged in Vs and Va should rise to appropriate levels.

Connected with resistor powered on like you said and I connected the resistor to the high-voltage They check out. Can these boards be fixed? I would love to if it is doable also will be uploading video cause it turns on intermittently watch and see If it helps. I'll post it in a bit

So, you do not get cycling voltages or relay? Not much that can be done re main board repair. You can check voltage regulators, but that's about it.

when I jump to ground PSON Relay Clicks on and stays on and voltages are there, then when I jump VSON to STBY 5v Vs are there.

How do I test regulators? or is there a post somewhere on how to properly test them... I have a Scope if that is easier. Thanks once again Tom

                      7.1 Voltage regulators
                      -------------------------

Voltage regulators (U designation) can be bad. They can be shorted or output the incorrect voltage. The test described below only tests the former.

If you have a manual range multimeter, set it to 200 ohms (two hundred). You can test voltage regulators "in circuit" for shorts by (power off and unplugged)

                      a) black on pin 1- red on pin 2 - record ohms
                      b) black on pin 1- red on pin 3 - record ohms
                      c) black on pin 2- red on pin 3 - record ohms

If any ohm reading is less than 30 ohm you might have shorted voltage regulator. Remove from circuit and repeat the tests to verify.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                          by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Samsung UN65KU6290F PS board blows fuses
                          by valvashon
Samsung UN65KU6290F (May 2017); received from local Buy Nothing group. Was listed as "just went dead" and they wanted it gone. I brought it home, didn't notice anything visually wrong with the power supply board, looked up the cost of a new one and that's about as far as it went. Family was tired of tripping on the foot of the set so I decided to dig in and repair or toss.

Can't believe that I didn't check it earlier but I found the main 8 amp fuse blown. Jumped across it with a 10 amp blade style fuse and you can see that it literally exploded inside the second I plugged...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                          by Asraf Atb
                          Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....
