Have a Panasonic TC-P42S1.
The SC board is definitely bad, I found several shorted components.
I purchased another SC board, but I was unsure about the SD and SU boards.
I didn't want to damage the new SC board. I noticed there is a resistance
test for them in what they call the revised 2009 trouble shooting handbook.
The SU procedure calls for unplugging SU41 and SU11, plus removing the
floating ground screws. They then say to measure the resistance between
the VF ground and pin 2 on the SU41 connector. The normal resistance they
claim its supposed to be is about 2.1 meg, and a low resistance means the board
is bad. However mine is showing high, about 12 meg instead of two. They also
give the same 2.1 meg figure when testing the SD board. But it shows appox.
12 meg also.
It look as though the manual has made a mistake, but have they?
Has anyone done this test before to confirm what the resistance is supposed to be?
Thanks.
